Out of Joint

The Oversight Committee’s Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs Chairman Pat Fallon (R-Texas) and the Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance Chairman Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) will hold a joint hearing examining the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives’ (ATF) actions aimed at curtailing the ability of lawful gun owners to exercise their Second Amendment rights. JBTs Gonna JBT

The federal government has been using Americans’ income and gun purchases to conduct warrantless tracking and deny Second Amendment rights. Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) gave salary estimates to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as the reason to have people’s firearms purchases monitored. [More]

So does that mean IRS is giving them the income data?

Baby Needs a New Pair of Jackboots

Biden’s budget proposal contains $1.9 billion for the ATF. This is a 13.6 percent increase over 2022 and half a billion dollars more than the agency’s fiscal 2020 budget. If passed as written, Biden’s budget would expand the ATF by 35.7 percent—an overall growth of more than 50 percent since the Obama administration. [More]

Don’t your oppressors deserve the very best?

We’re the Only Ones Showing Up in Force Enough

Video from the family’s surveillance camera shows an unmarked police car pull up, and a Lorain police officer and a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agent jump out and try to speak with the boys. [More]

ATF? And 12 in all show up? Over “jaywalking”?

And nice “We the People” tat.

Nice way these “sworn officers” talk to citizens. I see the Lorain PD limits who can comment on their posts so citizens can’t talk back.

And remember: Back the Blue!

A Good First Step

I have never given up hope that the collector’s item I got so I’d have standing will one day be surrendered back to me by ATF.

I wonder if SCOTUS will forever punt, and what the implications will be for pistol braces, forced reset triggers, and the like.

Much Ado About What, Exactly?

Reps. Jordan, Massie demand ATF director testify before House Judiciary Committee [More]

Sure, it’ll be nice to point out all his inconsistencies in the echo chamber on a relatively obscure issue most Americans don’t care about, but if Republicans couldn’t do anything about it when they had the majority and Eric Holder told them to go F*** themselves, what makes them think they will be able to do anything about it with the Dems in the majority?

The Look at Me I’m On Your Side Act

Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX) reintroduced a bill which would require the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to destroy firearm purchase records in their database. [More]

“Reintroduced”?

What are the chances of it passing this time? Does Michael Cloud know that?

The guy’s got a pretty good record. Hollow patronizing does not improve it.

I Think They Call What’s Happening Here ‘Ratioing’

Today, we remember and honor the life and service of Special Agents Conway LeBleu, Todd McKeehan, Robert Williams and Steven Willis, who were killed attempting to execute warrants at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas, in 1993. [More]

To put it mildly, comments are not supportive.

OK Up to a Point

Unelected ATF just made a new “law” that turns 40M law-abiding gun owners into felons for owning a pistol brace. Latest example of the bureaucratic state making laws undermining our freedom and democracy. This must stop. [Watch]

Fine and good, Tulsi. Well stated and much is correct, but”gun rights” proponents need to stop asserting Congress is the body that should be able to ban guns. There’s no delegated power that negates “shall not be infringed.”

And I still don’t trust you.

Learning from the Pros

“This was a textbook case of trafficking firearms to Mexico,” ATF Special Agent in Charge Fred Milanowski said in the press release. “Firearms trafficking is illegal and immoral. Unfortunately, the consequences of a firearm illegally possessed in the United States and Mexico can cause danger and harm for decades. As demonstrated by this case, we will continue to investigate and prosecute gun traffickers who endanger the lives of law-abiding citizens in our communities.” [More]

Challenging False Authority

The Second Amendment Foundation today filed an amended federal complaint challenging the Biden administration’s new “Arm Brace Rule,” accusing the government of violating the Administrative Procedures Act, the Second Amendment and the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment. [More]

And the damning thing is, the government knows it’s violating all of those things.
