Notes from the Resistance
“My kids and I were in line for a ride for well over an hour,” said the woman, who asked not to be identified. “Lots of teenagers kept cutting in line, right and left. I said, ‘Nope. The back of the line’s down there.’ Then, we were jumped from behind.” [More]
That’ll teach her to deny “teens” their entitlement.
And since you asked…

Miki and his wife were ready to commit suicide, along with their child, Masada-style, rather than be taken hostage. But it never came to that. With steady nerves and superb gun skills, Miki held more than ten terrorists at bay. [More]
What a wonderful story about a courageous man defending his family– something this stupid woman will never know.
Too bad some men aren’t allowed the same choice.

A quick message regarding my recent tweet about AR-15s. [Watch]
And a quick response…
It’s bad enough these people are so ignorant and wrong without being insufferably smug about it.
A 23-year-old Beach Park felon was arrested over the weekend for bringing an AR-15 loaded with “penetrator rounds” to a Halloween party in Antioch, Illinois. We need a federal assault weapons ban now! [More]
Drifting in and out again, I see…
“Penetrator rounds”…

That took me all of five seconds.
I guess they were getting tired of using books and vegetables…
“Rasmussen did this survey after the Maine tragedy,” noted CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, “so it was definitely on everyone’s mind when they responded to the survey. We’ve maintained for decades that if existing gun laws were enforced, we wouldn’t need a constant stream of new laws, with additional restrictions on law-abiding citizens, which have really not prevented such events, as gun control proponents invariably promise when they push their latest schemes. [More]
So this wasn’t someone new at JPFO posting an NRA email before the adults had a look at it? It was top-down policy from the mothership…?
Good grief, Alan.

He and many other dealers complain that ATF changed their definition of what constitutes a willful violation. The ATF now says that every gun dealer has been told to submit only proper paperwork, so any error – even clerical – constitutes a willful violation of ATF rules. [More]
There is no new thing under the sun.
The functionaries carrying this out must be pretty confident they’ll never be held personally accountable for their “willful violations.”

I’ll bet no properties owned by these guys are being attacked.
Say… what’s to stop the looters from coming over here? And becoming Democrats…?
It’s the guns. [More]
Of course, it’s not. But you’ll notice the grabbers never tell you when meeting their demands will be enough– that’s because it never will be for them. They’re still arguing that Heller misappropriated founding intent and that you have no individual right to own a gun.
Of course, they’re talking about taking your guns. They have been since Day One, and it’s the one thing they say you can believe.
Enter “Pediatrician & Mom” Dr. Annie Andrews, Senior Advisor @everytown, who quickly establishes that she is a medical fraud:
Wait. It’s the “human heart”? So we need a cardiologist? Good news! I know many. They think it’s the fucking guns.
That’s two logic fails in one tweet, the first implication being that her premise speaks authoritatively for cardiologists, and the second relying on false authority that a medical degree in a specialized field qualifies them to have expert opinions in other fields.
There’s a word for such as Annie.

Chris Britt’s political cartoons are sometimes controversial, often outrageous and always thought-provoking. His take-no-prisoners style has been entertaining readers since 1991. A self-described liberal, Britt nevertheless delights in skewering deserving politicians of every persuasion. [More]
Can’t tell it by this. Or this.
Which side is funded by billionaires again…? The term “Astroturf” applies to the few elites who donate big, not to the legion of gun owners who donate small.
And elites control the DSM, which decides which cartoonists receive mass media promulgation.
I haven’t been this under-impressed by a mediocre, hate-filled intellectual lightweight cartoonist since Ted Rall.

Word:
…I must ask where in history is any civilization guaranteed stasis? Has not despotism and mass destruction plagued every civilization that preceded ours? Is it not, in fact, still commonplace throughout the globe? By what suspension of reality, by what denial of the observable and the probable, by what art, device or magic are we sheltered few immune from catastrophe? Are we certain, from our brief and privileged vantage point, that such things will ever remain headline curiosities? Is it not just plain stupid to proclaim that our familiar way of life will forever be the norm, when everything that has gone before us shows we are, instead, the extremely lucky beneficiaries of a rare and fortunate convergence of circumstances; and one, by the way, that has only been preserved under force of arms?
And I loved the bit about the cat women.

Golden: I have opposed efforts to ban deadly weapons of war like the assault rifle he used to carry out this crime. The time has now come for me to take responsibility for this failure. Which is why I now call on the United States congress to ban assault rifles [Watch]

California’s assault weapons ban will remain in effect while a court considers whether the 30-year-old law is unconstitutional. [More]
That a court thinks there’s anything to consider is our first clue that the game is rigged.
I think we all know that the Ninth Circuit is going to side with citizen disarmament and it’ll take SCOTUS strapping ’em on to get a proper ruling–provided the Republicans don’t blow ’24 and the composition of the High Court changes while the clock is running.
Not that that would settle it…

Under current VA policy, if a veteran who defended this country has to go to the VA and ask for help managing his or her financial affairs the VA automatically reports that veteran to the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System … and that veteran loses his firearm … automatically, no due process, no questions asked. This ion has not been made by a judge, it’s being made by a bureaucrat. All our Amendment would do would be … to say the VA, just because you’ve asked for help with your money, cannot automatically take away your firearm or report you to NICS unless a judge has ruled that that veteran is a danger to to himself or to others. [Watch]
Now look at how ABC News/MSN couch it, knowing full well most will not do more than scan the headlines and the first few words:
Senate approved amendment that would limit gun background checks for veterans
Then immediately tie that in with the Maine shooter being a veteran…
