I’ve quit jobs before when I couldn’t stomach what was going on. I’ve refused to do things that could have gotten me fired when they conflicted with my principles. All with a family to support and no guaranteed lifeline visible.

And I’ve known men who have put their careers on the line to expose institutional corruption.
