What’s in a Name?

The day didn’t go so well, however, for Rep. Deborah Ross (D-NC), who, during opening remarks she gave at the hearing, managed to confuse the names and images of two of the victims whose stories were being told. [More]

Well, we know how Democrats feel about random dead persons murdered by their constituent base.

The important thing to remember here is Deborah doesn’t want victims to be able to defend themselves.

TDS Up Close and Personal

I’m generally a pretty peaceable guy because I know the consequences of not being so can turn deadly, so I will go out of my way to avoid a fight and even swallow MY pride.

Hassle someone I love and I would need to apply extra special restraint on myself. In this case, I’d have been in his face. Me a few decades back would have followed him outside. And if he laid a finger on a loved one, me today would have gone scorched earth.

And yes, I was talking about myself here.

What does this rodent think it is? A Boston turkey?

California, eh?

I wonder how the white settlers, the Spanish colonists, and the Indian tribes that came before them, who knew they were the top predator of the planet with dominion over the earth, would have handled things

Shameless Plug: American Handgunner

I just got my copy of the November/December 2025 issue in the mail, featuring my Gun Rights article, “Is the Second Amendment an Obsolete Relic of Another Time?” on pg. 73.

This is my fourth (and looks like final) column for this magazine since they announced they are discontinuing print editions. As for going forward with a digital publication, so far no one has approached me and I figure right now they’re all scrambling to adjust, adapt, and see what continuation will look like.

You might want to see if you can pick up a copy at your local news stand because the last issue of a magazine that has been published for over half a century might be a collector’s item some day.

None Dare Call Them Domestic Enemies

On Sept. 30, Philadelphia’s Office of Immigrant Affairs plans to hoist the red flag emblazoned with the star of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in front of city hall to celebrate the anniversary of the establishment of the CCP. [More]

Because even though they don’t (yet) outright admit it (to the general public), they’re communists.

In your face, birthplace of American independence!

Just like Democracy Now! with its glowing tribute to th e “legacy” of good communi… I mean “black liberation activist” Assata Shakur, without once mentioning she was a Marxist murderer.

Reigning on His Parade

“I lack a proper proofreader,” too. Does that make me an “amateur”? 😊 [More]

Worse than that, my spellcheck is woke.

Typos: We all make ’em (and sometimes intentionally, because in case anyone hasn’t noticed, I love to play with language and my toys, my rules). That said, people chronically not knowing the difference between “you’re” and “your” just seems lazy.

What really irritated me about Nicholas’ post was this:

I encourage whomever reads this, if you agree with anything I wrote, copy and paste it and send it on to any or all of the above, because if we’re to gain any traction here, we need more than a couple voices speaking up.

No one did. None of his X.com recipients responded, and I see a lot of them who get promoted here, yet somehow it never occurs to them to reciprocate.

Add to that most of the comment posters to my articles that he cited were either preoccupied with childish ad hominem attacks or changing the subject from a conversation nobody else was offering to hijacking the thread to talk about stories on all the DSM sites. Yeah, that’ll bring about substantive change.

And the thing is, lifting the needed finger would be as easy as swatting flies.

Really.

If I ever just say “Screw it, I’ve got mine” and go enjoy my dotage in a life of ease, it won’t be because of the antis.

Moving Targets

Eric Swalwell Says Dems Will Target Private Citizens Who Work With Trump [More]

Really? Organized Democrat lawfare against citizens who don’t back their scams and vote their way?

See, this is the latest Big Lie Dems are pushing– that exposing their political criminality and making them pay for it, while it may be personally satisfying, is still only justice working the way it should. A sense of schadenfreude about karma, and even feeling a rush of revenge for wrongs done, is simply a side benefit of human nature.

Here’s one danger with his threat that seems directly relevant to us– just like the court judgments that assign decision protections to members of gun groups that obtained a judgment, being a member of such groups that support him and his agenda will mean you “worked with Trump.”

Me, I think this treasonous Swalwell f_head ought to be investigated for voter intimidation conspiracy, and if speech or debate clause protections really apply to doing it on CNN (I know about Murtha, but SCOTUS never weighed in). And that in turn reminds me of a write-up I once did concerning an anti-gun Vichycon, centered on this quote from an AP report:

A congressman has no special protection from criminal charges, a federal appeals panel ruled Wednesday in allowing a racketeering and bribery trial for Rep. Joseph M. McDade (R-Pa.). McDade had used the Constitution’s “speech or debate” clause in asking for dismissal of the charges.

An investigation would be a whole lot more orderly and peaceable in the end than having to remind this toad Swalwell that people who feel they’re targeted and have nothing left to lose sometimes target back.

A Fork in the Road

UPDATE

Per HinMO’s comment, I did a quick search:

While it may sound and look like him, the “Mind to Goals” YouTube channel is not an AI version of the real Elon Musk. Instead, the channel uses artificial intelligence to generate its content and has videos featuring AI-generated voices and images meant to imitate Musk.

Looks like I didn’t do due diligence on fact checking to read the disclaimer buried in the text and that’s on me. While it doesn’t invalidate principles expounded on, it does invalidate the source.

Most People Don’t Realize What Trump’s Omar Response Really Means—Until NOW | Elon Musk [Watch]

Good talk.

Just don’t expect her Somali constituents to agree.

And there’s a more fundamental question behind what kind of country we want to be:

Does the government serve the people or do the people serve the government?
