Birds of a Feather

A resurfaced interview with Jennifer Siebel Newsom, wife of California Gov. Gavin Newsom, is drawing attention online after she said that evangelicals are “pulling us back as a country.” [More]

I wonder how she feels about even more restrictive theocratic dogma

She’s the one who “nearly screamed through tears from the witness stand Monday when she told the court Harvey Weinstein raped her in a hotel room…”

Funny, how he had no scratches on his face, she didn’t file a police report, and she “had contact with Harvey Weinstein in the months and years following the 2005 incident [because] she maintained a business relationship because he was a powerful figure in the industry, and she was trying to pretend nothing had happened”.

I’m hardly an apologist for that pig Harvey, but I don’t believe a word that comes out of this self-serving opportunist’s mouth, and think she and Gavin deserve each other.

No wonder they’re so against traditional observed American faith, morality, and freedom.

Scott-Free

I can’t say I know much about Daniel Friedman, but I don’t get the credence some on “our side” assign to Scott Ritter:

Believe him and his adherents if you like, but some of us aren’t going to kneejerk swallow fantastic allegations without actual evidence, especially when they come from someone who helped the United Nations implement arms control treaties and who was later “found guilty of unlawful contact with a minor and five of six other charges after a three-day trial in Monroe County Court on charges stemming from an online sex sting.”

That said, ad hominem is a logical fallacy. Always look at evidence, including for the credibility of those offering interpretations, inferences, and pronouncements.

Who Will Guard the Guardians?

Florida Lawmakers Move to Allow ‘Guardians’ to Carry Guns on College Campuses [More]

I never did care for the sheepdog analogy, expecting someone else to take risks on my behalf that I’m not willing to assume myself. That’s what got us into their “Only Ones” mess in the first place.

As for me being one, I’m with Rick Blaine.

And as for listening to Sen. Carlos Guillermo Smith, I’m not about to take self-defense advice from a man who can’t even protect his own husband.

I Always Knew I’d Get It in Toontown

Judge Blocks Lawyer’s Distribution of Animation That Allegedly Shows “Uncommanded Discharge” of Sig Sauer Pistol – “This Animation is literally false as a factual matter,” the judge concludes, issuing a permanent injunction against the use of the animation for advertising purposes. [More]

What is it with “artists” getting technical details wrong?

And switching gears, a typo I made when putting in a tag came up with a neologism:

Nuncommanded discharge

Sounds Like Nothing a Good Old-Fashioned A$$-Kick… uh … Exorcism Wouldn’t Cure…

Newly Renovated Church at Marquette University Vandalized – “If I ever have the opportunity to talk to [the suspect] I’d say ‘Get yourself sorted out and come back and join the parish’” [More]

See, that’s a distinction worth noting. The religion we’re told to welcome would put out a fatwa if this happened to a mosque.

I got a name for the arrested headcase punk, sorry, alleged suspect, from later reports but note something that raises a flag for me:

As of March 2026, authorities have not publicly disclosed specific beliefs or a motive for the suspect, Steven Martinez, regarding the vandalism at Marquette University’s Church of the Gesu.

The original rebellion continues.

That’s Gratitude for Ya

The crowd greeted Albanese and Tony Burke, the home affairs minister, by calling them “genocide supporters” and “putrid dog.” They even chant “Allahu Akbar.” [More]

So this is what happens when useful idiots are no longer needed…?

Albanese… Albanese… isn’t he the fella who wants all his countrymen’s guns?

An Unqualified Opinion

Oh, look: False authority. Lemme show you what I mean.

Meet self-identified Korea/Vietnam vet Paul A. Ransom, who “expertly” informs us:

The explosive in a bullet is the same as the explosive in a bomb. Just a smaller amount. Bombs are under tight control. Bombs can be purchased, but not without the proper credentials. We as American citizens have the right to bare arms, but nothing in the Constitution gives us the right to have a bomb or bullets.

Remember who one of our greatest “war heroes” once was.

In the Spirit of Aloha

Why are residents being charged multiple fees not authorized by law? Why are residents being charged at all when the County is already paying for the system? Why is confidential firearm data being handled by a private company? And who is ensuring compliance with Hawaiʻi statutes? [More]

And why is such a “public/private partnership” not referred to by it’s true name?

In Any Way, Shape, or eForm

Unfortunately, the implementation of this modification introduced a critical security flaw. According to sources familiar with the ATF’s internal operations, the update was not properly secured. Due to misconfigurations in the eForms system, the client-side form elements, those rendered in the user’s web browser, were vulnerable to manipulation. [More]

Sounds like incompetent administration all the way around, beginning with an inadequate request for proposal back when.

I’d love to see some of those “humorous, provocative, or outlandish” entries.

Anybody got the “step-by-step instructions on Reddit” link that has been deleted, and tried it on archive.today or Wayback Machine?

Point/Counterpoint

Armed with military-grade weapons smuggled from the U.S., the 50-man force is one of dozens of “autodefensa,” or “self-defense,” groups that have emerged over the past decade in Mexico to fight increasingly sophisticated cartels in areas far out of the reach of security forces. [More]

Which FFL are they getting them from?

And just to show there are two sides to every story:

We Traced How U.S. Guns Get to Mexican Cartels [More]

How come commie Antifa/No Kings types never come after cartels? Are the defenders worth siding with? Let God sort ’em out?

American guns fueling Mexican violence, so we need to curtail rights here? This looks like just what the media narrative was before all hell broke loose.

We’re the Only Ones Overreacting Enough

For a misdemeanor charge of possessing 38 rounds of ammo without an FOID card? This is how regimes enforce “commonsense gun safety laws”? Even those that are dominated by “law-and-order Republicans”?

Those are some heavy duty “military style” assault vehicles the standing army sheriff sent out for that. It brings to mind a question I asked some years back about how the Battle of Athens would go today.

Must Not Get Out Much

“It’s the most profound thing I’ve literally ever heard,” one TikTok user said. [More]

A line from “Deteriorata” comes to mind:

Be assured that a walk through the ocean of most souls
Would scarcely get your feet wet

Tell us more about how profound Ethan Hawke is:

…we need to take guns out of the hands of young people out of, you know, what’s the expression? Common sense gun laws, you know, I mean, that is it no-brainer…

See what I mean?

Yep, the wrong people are “influencers.
