Into the Grey Zone

There aren’t just democracies and dictatorships. There are many countries occupying a grey zone, where elections happen but harassment of the press and the opposition allows the regime to keep a vice grip on power. You can’t help but think that’s where Trump wants to take us. [Watch]

This liar again. Talking to this liar.

Talk about projection writ large…

How Congress can end DC’s lawfare and one-party federal bias [More]

What a logical and insightful plan Glenn H. Reynolds has laid out for us.

Meaning there ain’t a chance in hell the string-pullers will ever let it out of the “conservative” echo chamber, let alone allow their political minions, who wouldn’t be inclined anyway, to do anything with it unless it meant more power for themselves…

Plan B Has Its Attractions, Too

Bernie Sanders Says Biden Should Consider Preemptive Pardons for January 6 Committee Members [More]

I’ll forego my wish if GOP House Oversight and Senate Judiciary straps ’em on and forces them to testify so the extent of what they suppressed, who they communicated with and about what, gets exposed.

That could be nmore dangerous for some of them than an Epstein cell.

I Don’t Know Art But I Know What I Like

The banana “art” post was the tip of the iceberg. Enter cheese that goes crunch.

Leave it to Hunter Biden to find a way to turn laundering well-heeled Democrat support into an art form. And it turns out not enough people are appreciating the “art” of millionaire commie Jim Carrey to make ends meet.

Not to be outdone and wanting in on the action, regular WarOnGuns Correspondent Steve T has an entry of his own. Feel free to offer bids below.

It Depends Upon What the Meaning of the Word ‘Bipartisan’ Is

“In 2000, before the general election, I introduced a bipartisan resolution to amend the Constitution and abolish the Electoral College.” [More]

How could it have been “bipartisan” if the only co-sponsor was a Democrat and it was never voted on?

My Kind of Razzmatazz

“The vice mayor, a guy named Alderman Burnett, convicted of bank robbery, armed robbery, spent time in jail, he’s getting paid in addition to his aldermanic salary almost half a mil to be ‘vice mayor,’ which essentially has no duties or responsibilities other than waiting to possibly become mayor if something were to happen to Mayor Johnson,” Kelly said. [More]

The servants throw the people out of their house– talk about disenfranchising voters. It’s hard to believe they elected a bigger dolt than Lori Lightfoot, but forget it, Jake, it’s Chi-Town.

The “Chicago Flips Red” T’s are an encouraging sign, but they need to get organized. That’d be a good inroad in terms of making RKBA one of their voting considerations. On the other hand, the guy holding the “Refuse to Accept a Fascist America” banner seems mad because illegals are competitors for the plunder and cut into his share, which means his faction is culpable for giving power to scoundrels and morons and will continue to do so.

Still, if it stirs up Democrat division, that’s a silver lining, especially since the screaming Cultural Marxists turn off everyone who’s not.

Don’t let the propaganda saying otherwise sway you. Over-regulation is a public health problem, especially with the stresses making earning a living or keeping a business open harder. I suspect if you did a study, you’d find the same results for shortened lifespans as Dr. Lott found about homicides, and that makes it look like it applies to the entire population.

Oh, We Got Trouble

On deporting families with mixed immigration status (such as the parents being in the U.S. illegally, while their kids are citizens): “I don’t want to be breaking up families, so the only way you don’t break up the family is you keep them together and you have to send them all back.” [More]

And since there’s no legal way to deport a citizen, that means scratch this one off the list.

Wants Dreamers to be able to stay…

Because nothing says American self-interest like officially normalizing leftist foreign nationals.

As for “criminals out first,” last I checked a different branch of government will be adjudicating on due process and appeals…

Me, I’m just wondering when the band uniforms arrive.

Good thing none of this has anything to do with that “single issue”… right, Chuck?

Up Until the Very Last Second

So committed are these staffers, Efron confesses, that they plan to work right up until the final moments on inauguration day, rushing to ensure that every possible tax-payer dollar is disbursed before a Republican administration can turn off the spigot. [More]

I find it hard to believe there’s nothing the Republican-controlled House can do to stop this in its tracks– for instance, could House Oversight announce an audit and order a freeze on non-operating cost disbursements pending its completion? What about letting activist employees know they’ll be fired in January if they keep it up?

This Aged Well

These lying @$$holes haven’t said any more either.

That they raise money as “Republicans” is nothing less than fraud, and since they do it to influence political power and laws, ought to be treated as such.

Abolish the ATF?: Rep. Burlison wants to eliminate ‘disaster agency’ he says has been violating 2nd Amendment- Rep. Eric Burlison plans to introduce a measure that then-Rep. Matt Gaetz previously put forward in 2023 [More]

Besides, thanks to Vichycon gun-grabbers, it’ll never even make it out of the House. And what do you think Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins will have to say about it in the Senate?

I wonder what they have to say about Bondi’s role in railroading George Zimmerman

Primaries – Open, Closed, or None at All?

Political Parties are private clubs. Primaries are taxpayer-funded elections where private clubs choose their representation in General Elections. So, members of Party A pay for Party B to choose their candidate and those not affiliated with any Party pay for them all. Instead of passing a taxpayer-funded Constitutional Amendment to force private clubs to allow non-members to vote in their internal selection process, why not adopt a system where the private clubs pay for their own processes? [More]

WarOnGuns Correspondent Scott Jensen offer an idea I’ve never considered before, and while addressed to Oklahoma legislators in response to SQ 835 seems universally applicable.

I’ve pointed out a failing of open primaries before and don’t see either party getting their snouts out of the public trough without powerful carrot/stick incentives, but Scott’s ideas are unique and deserves wider consideration.

I’m intrigued. What about you?

Survey SAYS…

Last week, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn lost his bid to be the chamber’s majority leader. The next day, he announced his intention to seek reelection to the Senate in 2026. We asked readers if they would support him if the Texas GOP primary election were held today. Here is a sampling of the comments we received from our readers after they voted in the survey. [More]

By all accounts he should be finished. If he’s not, it’s on Texas Republican voters.
