Just Like the Founders Intended

A U.S. appeals court on Friday upheld Maryland’s licensing requirements for people seeking to buy handguns, saying the law remained valid even after a U.S. Supreme Court decision in 2022 that expanded gun rights. [More]

Anybody know which clause from Bruen Obama-appointee Barbara Milano Keenan cherry-picked to justify a clear prior restraint?

New York, New York, It’s a Wonderful Town

Vicious duo who pummeled elderly woman on NYC street freed without bail — despite arrest history: cops [More]

Cowardly parasites…

Still to be determined, because the story didn’t (dare to?) say, if they’re also racists in target selection.

At least, odds are, their victims vote for the Democrat politicians who make street predators like them inevitable.

Trump to GOA

The promise to “listen to GOA” is what we’ll need to remind him of. And he needs to understand there are difference between them and NRA, and why.

Dispense with the Formalities

Massachusetts Senators Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren sent a letter to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) asking it to “closely examine” facial recognition-enabled ammunition vending machines that have recently been installed in supermarkets in certain states. [More]

Yeah, why does it need to ID us?

Meanwhile, Over at the Borg Collective…

“Today, I, Victor Miller, concede the Cheyenne mayoral race. As the first person to put artificial intelligence directly on the ballot, offering voters the novel choice of AI governance, our campaign has marked a historic moment in politics and technology,” Miller said. [More]

He says it’s coming and it is unstoppable.

If it is going to be making the decisions and wielding the power, not its human meat puppet, how can it take the required oath of office?

[A]ll executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution…

John Quincy Adding Machine comes to mind:

You gotta wonder what kind of man wants to be ruled by machines. Or rule others with them.

Slam Dunc

Just received a letter from the NRA – National Rifle Association of America verifying my A-rating as a “solid pro-gun/pro-hunting candidate” who will be an advocate for your right to keep and bear arms as Georgia’s next Lt. Governor. I hope to earn your vote on Election Day. [More]

That’s why he’s urging all Americans to vote for Kamala Harris and her agenda to eviscerate the Second Amendment, calling those who do “patriots,” and smearing everyone who doesn’t as “a cult worshipping a felonous thug”!

He swindled Georgia Carry, too:

“If Brian Kemp wins governor and Geoff Duncan wins lieutenant governor, I don’t see us needing to play defense next year,” said Jerry Henry, Georgia Carry’s executive director. “If those people get elected, why would we have to fight (gun control legislation)?”

What a lying @$$hole this Duncan character is.

Author Offers Unique Insights on Fascism, Second Amendment, and More

[T]he first stop in understanding what the framers and ratifiers thought the 2nd Amendment means should be what they actually said it means in the debates and in the newspapers. [More]

“Right” means right. “People” mean people. “Arms” mean arms. “Shall not be infringed” means shall not be infringed. And no, he hasn’t forgotten the first 13 words.

A Bearable Opinion

Let’s hope historical analogues don’t come back to bite us. Rather than digging up what some colony did to infringe in special circumstances or older English law, put the focus on arguments put forth during ratification. We know what the founders meant, and there was nothing ambuiguous about it.

Anybody else having trouble digging up info on the defendant and his Glock switches? I’m wondering if what’s gun owners may be celebrating as a victory is actually part of an effort to turn the public against Bruen.

We’re the Only Ones On a Roll Enough

That’s some superior training. I could do a reverse 180 in my day but never learned to master a roll. Doing it more than once is a whole ‘nother level!

Flatten. Talk about an aptronym. Almost as good as Lt. Feeley.

F-in moron. Tell me his colleagues are surprised he has a drinking problem and said nothing as he went out there every day and endangered the public.

Another Roadside Attraction

From friend George Gramlich, publisher and editor of the Sangre de Cristo Sentinel:

Literally hundreds of people have stopped and took their picture in front of the Trump Shrine in the last month. Biggest tourist attraction in town.

We’ve talked about this unique, freedom-promoting paper plenty of times before, here and at the old place. Here’s their “mission statement”:

A newspaper to serve the good people of this county, surrounding counties and our neighboring communities located along the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. A newspaper with a conservative voice. A newspaper with “A DIFFERENT VIEW FROM THE SAME MOUNTAINS” than what is available now. A newspaper for all liberty and freedom loving citizens and patriots. We believe this is a much needed “CHOICE” in these beautiful, mostly rural, areas of Colorado. The Sentinel (also knows as a Sentry) is a Guardian. He watches over, protects, informs and warns us and others of danger. There are many current dangers to our liberties, freedoms and rights. So, first, we need to be informed, then we need to stand up for and be prepared to protect these liberties, freedoms and rights. Lastly, we need to remain vigilant. This newspaper will be our Sentinel and help us all do that.

So did Mike, who spoke at the Independence Day parade in Westcliffe.
