The current permit holder, who has managed the range for the past six months, was notified last month that the permit would not be renewed… The decision has been made to transition the Complex to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). I’m told the MCSO has a facility next to it but they have access to other ranges in the county that are LEO-only, and I’m wondering if there’s any anti-armed citizen political motive behind this, and if we can expect more.
Maybe we should start with what the prior permit holder has to say, and then look into if a FOIA request for correspondence between decision makers is called for.
