Come Now, and Let Us Reason Together

H.Con.Res. 38: Directing the President pursuant to section 5(c) of the War Powers Resolution to remove United States Armed Forces from unauthorized hostilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran… Prognosis
24% chance of being agreed to [More]

Seems to me ignoring the Constitutional delegation of the power to declare war to Congress has produced nothing but catastrophe since the end of WWII. If we’re going to risk WWIII, I want to have a say in it through my representatives.

It’s both amazing and depressing to see how knee-jerk hostile many self-identified MAGA types get on social media at the suggestion that we might just want to listen to the Founders on this. Ditto for some gun owners, who aren’t grokking a text, history, and tradition parallel…

I guess they’re ready for martial law, ration cards, and suspension of rights. Either that or they think it will always just be something we see on the news.

Very few seem to be asking “Cui bono?” or connecting dots to the “Deep State” Trump campaigned against.

Playing the Trump Card

The release also said the Trump Organization would be introducing a new “TI Phone” in August, which was described as a “sleek, gold smartphone engineered for performance and proudly designed and built in the United States for customers who expect the best from their mobile carrier.” [More]

So, unlike with Teslas, where enraged psychopaths will vandalize them when nobody’s around, when will we see readily identifiable Trump gold phone users confronted in person, and attacked?

Related story: Elder feral son Uday with his wife and daughter joined her parents for a west coast vacation recently, and the father-in-law rented a Tesla truck– I think they’re ugly but it was pretty cool seeing videos of the dang thing driving itself, which he says takes some getting used to.

I asked him if anybody did anything to intimidate them and he said a few people gave them the finger. That alone is something I just can’t wrap my head around, but I suppose asking “What the hell is wrong with leftists?” is one of those questions we could spend a lifetime on and still not have an answer.

And tangentially related:

Then again, explain this:

More bipolarity from the Professor Harold Hill of politics

And no, of course I wouldn’t rather have a Democrat. What a stupid rejoinder.

Just as stupid as giving the president unquestioning full-throated support, because he’s perfectly happy to fill those throats whenever it suits him.

Ain’t No Backing Down Now

Trump’s Test: Crush the Uprising in California or Let Mass Deportations Slip Through His Fingers [More]

I’m trying to remember all the fires started and foreign flags flown by J6 protesters the Dems called seditious conspirators…

I’m also wondering how soon the low-hanging fruit will do something stupid — and whose “side” they will represent.

A Modest Proposal

The NFA is constitutional because it’s “a modest burden” and not a ban [More]

The Second Amendment does not say “shall not be banned.” It says “shall not be infringed.” Even modestly.

Unless you’re one of the “smartest people in the room” who buy into the Trump/Bondi DOJ is playing super secret 3D chess with court rules that they can’t tell us about, and it will all work out in the end, honest…

Then ask why they’re not pushing SBRs.

Much Ado About Nothing

Trump’s ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ Would Slash Suppressor Transfer Costs To Zero [More]

But that’s not REALLY the point, is it?

I know, his rhetoric is a damn sight better than what Harris’s would have been, but who seriously believes even this will make it out of the Senate and to his desk?

I wish GOA would use the rhetoric I’m seeing from them here on something much more existential that they have so far been ignoring.

FIGHTING OVERCRIMINALIZATION IN FEDERAL REGULATIONS [More]

Will we see this apply to “violations” of arms possession edicts?

And good points on the ones cashing in by “fighting the oligarchy” actually serving the oligarchy. What’s that truism about “progressives” and Opposite Day?

A Best Kept Secret

The administration should use what it can control as leverage over what it cannot. The president is at the apex of his power in deciding which foreigners to admit. This is true from both a legal and practical standpoint. He should issue a proclamation under 8 U.S.C. 1182(f) declaring that no new immigrants will get in until everyone who should be deported is gone. [More]

I like it, but why are we talking about this on a “gun blog”?

DOJ to Illinois Gun Owners: Write Your Democrat Legislators to Repeal Infringements

It would seem not everyone is happy with me talking about this.

Yay Jeanine! She’s our Gal! We Don’t Have a Better Pal!

President Donald Trump wants Fox News host Jeanine Pirro to be the top federal prosecutor in Washington, D.C. Interim U.S. attorney Ed Martin had been nominated, but his named was pulled after a single senator announced his opposition. [More]

That would be the Weasel Whisperer.

As for Jeanine:

She joined the New Yorkers Against Gun Violence anti-defense zealots in a Columbine High School Memorial Blood Dance to call “for renewal and strengthening of the federal assault weapons ban.”

She launched a “gun amnesty/buyback” program—“no questions asked,” naturally, “to get illegal and unwanted weapons off the streets.”

I guess gun rights aren’t important when your Republican fundraiser husband [was] a federal prison alumnus—as a felon, he can’t legally own a gun. Besides, when you have a taxpayer-funded bodyguard, one who made more than $87,000 in overtime in addition to his $101,000-plus salary, who need a personal gun?

You ever get the feeling peceived loyalty “trumps” principles…?

I understand she makes pro-gun noises now, but has she ever apologized, admitted what she did was wrong, and explained why it was wrong so we could be sure she knows?

We’re the Only Ones Destructive Enough

Since the day I took office, the NYPD has seized more than 21,400 illegal firearms — and last week, I was able to help send many of these confiscated weapons to their final destination — a wood chipper that destroyed these guns so they can never be used to cause harm again. [More]

Everybody Ready for a Real ‘War on Drugs’?

Mexican president declines Trump’s offer of US troops to help fight drug cartels [More]

She’s right, but for the wrong reasons. If she allowed it, her corrupt government would cease to allow her.

I’m against it for the same reason I’ve consistently been against wars that our representatives have not declared– as required by the Constitution.

Surely, someone has factored in the likelihood of a sufficient percentage of the tens of millions embedded throughout the Republic becoming even more radicalized and adopting assymetric warfare tactics, e.g., “terrorism” wherever unhardened targets present themselves, that is, practically everywhere. Can we see the projections?

If the decision IS war, then anything other than real war will be a betrayal of those we order to put their bodies and their lives on the line on our behalf. And in this case, it would be impossible to “just” target cartels without also going after their stooges at all levels of the Mexican government.
