Strategery

During MSNBC’s The 11th Hour on Wednesday night former Republican strategist and Lincoln Project senior advisor Stuart Stevens proved that for many on the left, speech is violence. This latest example came when host Stephanie Ruhle asked for Stevens’ opinion on the recent spat of random shootings that have taken place over the past week. Stevens then suggested that the outrage over beer company Bud Light using a man dressed up as a woman during one of their promotional commercials was behind some of the violent incidents. [More]

Dylan’s new gig ought to put a stop to that.

Quite the “strategist,” isn’t he? Assuming the strategy is to prove you’re loathsome

I Wish I Could Say He Was Wrong

“It also suggests that we have seen a paradigm shift in this country, that now Republicans see the anti-gun violence movement as being more powerful than the gun lobby,” Murphy said. [More]

And Vichycons like Bill Lee and the “bipartisan” Quislings aim to prove him right.

Republicans as a party just don’t seem to understand that ultimately, they need Americans who will not disarm more than we need them.

A Staunch Supporter of the Second Amendment

Yeah, about that:

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee signed an executive order to tighten background checks on Tuesday, marking a victory for gun reformers in the GOP-controlled state. Lee also called upon the state legislature to pass a “red flag” law that will make it easier to remove guns from people who pose a danger to themselves or others.

It’s the way of the Vichycon: Feining support when there’s something in it for you, but when the going gets tough, the rats get scurrying. This is ideologically the same as going AWOL when your brothers are under fire. What a despicable coward.

Time to resurrect an old Stieger quote:

A High Hurdle?

The firearm industry wants to keep firearms out of the hands of those who cannot be trusted to responsibly possess them. That includes prohibited individuals, those suffering through a mental health crisis or suffering suicidal ideations and unsupervised children. “Red flag” laws have utility in protecting the public but must be carefully administered so these orders aren’t abused to disarm lawful gun owners. [More]

Define “unsupervised children.”

Yeah, listen to the latter-day Judenrat and collaborate with the jackboots. What could go wrong?

And continue ignoring the only thing that will work.

Where were they back when?

And now with zero chance of passing through the Schumer Senate to the Biden White House…

Consider it another Sealab Bizarro moment.

It’s a Big 俱乐部 and You Aint In It

The Supreme Court also struck down a New York state law that had been in place since 1913 restricting people from carrying concealed firearms. As the nation reflects on gun violence, such a reckless reversal of New York’s gun control law is intolerable, noted the governor of New York. American political commentator Matthew Dowd pointed out that the problems facing the United States today are rooted in the fragmentation of democracy. What American citizens want are a fair ruling in Roe v. Wade, a real gun reform, higher minimum wages, steeper taxes on the super-rich, better health care for all, and other reforms that heed popular calls. [More]

So the Bush/Cheney chief campaign strategist is basically speaking for the Chicoms on “gun control”…

A Public/Private Partnership

“Don’t Lie” is a cooperative program between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and NSSF. [More]

So if a trusted friend or relative is a “prohibited person” because they ran afoul of some unconstitutional citizen disarmament edict, or have been “red flagged” and disenfranchised without due process, the industry “solution” is to turn your back on him? Sounds like fascism in action to me.

If someone has been proven a truly dangerous character, why would they be anyplace they could receive a gun — from any source? We all know what prior restraint “background checks” enable, and how that will be exploited once Democrats have the votes. And since when is the mantra that “gun control” works?

Every time I see NSSF bragging about licking jackboots, kapos and drivers come to mind.

America’s Most Wanted

The FBI is investigating after a wanted fugitive from Maryland died following a shooting involving agents in the Knoxville area Monday evening. According to the FBI’s Knoxville Field Office, Roy McGrath, 53, suffered wounds during an arrest. It is unclear who wounded McGrath. [More]

That he worked for a right-wing gun nut extremist ought to be enough justification.

This Should End Well

The L.A. County Board of Supervisors has quietly added a proposal on Tuesday’s agenda that seeks to “decarcerate” and “depopulate” LA jails by directing law enforcement & courts to vastly expand the use of “cite and release” & return to COVID emergency bail schedule. [More]

What else would we expect from four Democrats and a Vichycon, privileged women all…?

Brace Yourselves

For the reasons discussed, the Court DENIES Plaintiffs’ request for injunctive relief or, in the alternative, for postponement of the Final Rule’s effective date (ECF No. 33). [More]

So infringements by swarms of officers are constitutional now…?

A Salvage Operation

DOJ is filing an appeal to overturn the district court’s preliminary injunction, and filing an emergency motion to stay, or halt, the portions of the order that would ban enforcement of the UHA’s requirements that semiautomatic pistols for retail sale have a chamber load indicator and magazine disconnect mechanism. The motion does not seek to immediately stop the part of the court’s decision enjoining the microstamping requirement. [More]

These bastards work in increments both ways. They’re trying to salvage what they can for now. They’ll come back for the rest later, assuming their subversions will assure enough dominance to control future courts.

You just gotta wonder what kind of Republicans would be stupid and/or treasonous enough to help them get an unchallengeable majority.

Report Says NRA ‘A+’ Rated McCarthy Raising Funds for Giffords-Endorsed Fitzpatrick

That makes it fair to ask why Kevin McCarthy, the beneficiary of an A+ rating and endorsement from the National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund, is reportedly going out of his way to raise major bucks for someone who is undermining everything about the Second Amendment we’re told he believes in. [More]

At the very least, we ought to find out if the reports are true.

Senate Republicans introduce bill codifying right to bear arms ‘outside your home’ [More]

Which Lindsey knows doesn’t stand a chance in hell with a Dem majority and Biden in the White House. So why do this now? Maybe to distract from another betrayal?

The obvious Republican pandering to Pavlovian response gun owners is only one reason this caught my attention. The other is this, in comments:

Unclear on the concept, are we, fellas? That and the “enforce existing gun laws” faction…
