Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) quietly removed a range of gun statistics from its website after gun control advocates complained that the statistics made gun control laws harder to pass, according to emails between CDC officials and gun control activists. [More]

So what else about guns have Democrats in government lied to us about in order to do the bidding of men behind the curtain, and why?

Gun Owner New Year’s Resolutions Can Help Increase Involvement and Effectiveness

I’m going to share some of them again here, in no particular order, in the hopes that one or more of them will apply to the particular talents, interests, and/or inclinations of everyone reading them. [More]

Feel free to add your own– just be sure to DO them. And Happy New Year.

FFL Persecuted for Years by FBI and ATF Left to Fend for Himself

In light of Bruen and its “historical understanding” benchmark, it’s difficult to see how an honest legal analysis could continue to support ATF’s vindictive vendetta against Albert Kwan. [More]

What a prolonged and tyrannical outrage. The question now is, does anyone besides a handful of us care?

Fauxbook Friends

I know I said I was only going to use the blog to promote my articles until the new year, but this just came up and needs to be addressed.

If you’re on Facebook and received one of these “friend requests,” it didn’t come from me. As I’ve repeatedly said in the past, I don’t send “social media” requests, because I only use it as advocacy media to share links to my work and that would make me no better than a spammer, so I wait for people to approach me first.

Whoever it is has stolen my real profile avatar (and made some additions I can’t quite figure out the significance of) and the link goes to an account at this url:

The url to MY account is: https://www.facebook.com/david.codrea

I don’t know who this other person is and if he’s a leftist agenda-driven saboteur or just an @$$hole fraudster, but one thing you can bet on by this false representation is that his intentions are not good.

If you get a “friend request” from “me,” you didn’t. Report it. I intend to.

And if you have the skills to try and find out who’s behind this (I do not), feel free. I opened up the source code on the avatar thinking that might tell me something, but quickly figured I was in over my head and got lost.

And to anyone who feels inclined to just say “don’t go on social media,” it’s you who’s limiting what weapons you’ll pick up and use, not me.

UPDATES

Crack Facebook moderators quick to pass “community standards” judgment on me for wishing readers “a contemplative Bill of Rights Day” assure me they’ll look into if impersonating me to sucker in victims rises to that level of offense:

Looks like they got it right:

And in a related/unrelated(?) development, WordFence warns me this site is under a concentrated attack:

I’ll let Dr. Evil field this one.

Buffalo Provides Real-Time Example of Insane ‘Progressive’ War on Guns

In this case, with people dying, there’s no question police were desperately needed elsewhere. But it’s in these times of disaster when people left to protect themselves are most justified in doing just that against predators. [More]

Machine Gun Charges Against Small Town Police Chief Point to Larger Issues

Nice work if you can get it. The problem is, without a badge, you can’t, and therein lies the crux of police as “Only Ones.” [More]

Hunter Biden Ally Should Worry About ‘Gun Crimes’ of His Own

“Paranoid” Media Matters founder David Brock had bodyguards and an “executive assistant [who] carried a handgun to public events,” including in Washington, D.C. At the time of the report, that was illegal, meaning he could not have been “lawfully carrying.” Evidently, “progressive” elites believe “gun laws” they demand for the rest of us do not apply to them. Legal bullying to chill exposing corruption doesn’t work on people who welcome the attempt to try.

Slow Going Ahead

The past two weeks have knocked me right off my schedule and the work I was intending to produce has not even been started. In order to get back on track I need to focus exclusively on writing my articles and then using this blog to promote them.

Please hold off on sending in newslink tips until I’m done playing catch-up, probably after New Year’s Day.

Merry Christmas, 2022

I thank all of you who have given me the gift of your time and wisdom, whether it has been by sending me stories to help illustrate the preciousness of rights endowed by our Creator, by sending a word of encouragement, by educating and helping me grow (either by confirming or correcting my assumptions), or by sharing my links, encouraging me to continue the work.

I also thank those of you who have given me the kindness of your condolences on the recent passing of my beloved Mother. There is never a “good” time to lose a loved one, but there’s a special poignancy at this time of year. I am grateful that up until the end, she had much to look forward to, and got to spend several precious moments with her new great-granddaughter.

My Christmas wish for you is that you have as much love in your life as I have been fortunate to find in mine. It surely beats all the riches in the world.

Now: What in the world are you doing here?

It’s Christmas. And if you don’t celebrate it, indulge those of us who do.

Go be with the ones you love. If there is no one you love, go fix that. Go do something loving for someone.

Merry Christmas.

Family Emergency

I got a call to go to Emergency this morning and spent the day and evening in ICU. I will be returning there tomorrow morning.

I don’t anticipate doing anything more here until next week. I have dozens of news tips currently in my inbox I simply won’t be able to get to. I have also turned off comments on this post because I won’t be available to moderate them. Please hold off on further tips and correspondence until my return.

12/16 UPDATE

My dear mother passed this afternoon.

It will be late next week before I am back.
