In the Days Before ‘Commonsense Gun Safety’…

“Possibly you’re old enough to remember the great massacre spree of 1964? … And all because, in its infinite stupidity, the U.S. Government dumped 240,000 high-capacity .30-caliber assault rifles into an otherwise innocent America.” Remember when that happened? No? Me neither, despite being a historian. That’s because it didn’t happen, despite hundreds of thousands of M-1 Carbines being dumped on an unsuspecting public in 1963 for less than a hundred bucks apiece. NRA members could buy them for a 20-dollar bill. No background check either. [More]

Ah, “progress.”

Another Write-up

Judge shuts down gun rights activist’s attempt to shed light on Hunter Biden’s alleged gun crimes [More]

Unlike most of the other reports, I appreciate the links and the recognition in this one. There’s still nothing about it, of course, in the “Lies of Omission” major media.

Not to tease, but there’s still a chance this might not be over that I can’t give details on yet.

Republicans haven’t had much luck, either, but my suspicion is their move was more pre-midterms motivated. You’ll forgive me if I don’t have a lot of confidence in a GOP-controlled House Oversight Committee doing much more than making self-serving noise.

Still, it tells us all we need to know about the Democrats.

A ‘Fellow Conservative’

This is a make-it-or-break-it moment, Fellow Conservative. I need to fundraise at least another $1,239 to sustain my campaign. Let me be very clear: I’m NOT asking you for that much. I’m humbly asking you to make a small contribution before my midnight deadline to save my campaign. [More]

Yeah, well, I just checked out your website and you don’t have one word about the right to keep and bear arms on your “Issues” page, and no gun group rating among your endorsements.  Add to that your “immigration” position is essentially the same one the Norquist/Bloomberg alliance wants, one experience shows us will bring in more proto-Democrats from around the globe.

So nope. Until Republican candidates get serious they can just feel our pain.

Citizens who are serious will still have their guns.

With Republicans Like These

The Federal Assault Weapons Licensing Act, debuted by U.S. Rep. Chris Jacobs (D-NY) on Monday, would create a scheme for any American seeking to legally purchase most new semi-auto rifles, shotguns, or pistols that would require the government to first sign off on the acquisition. [More]

Wrong, Guns.com. He’s an NRA-endorsed Republican and one of the usual suspects. And registration is just the first step toward this lying sack’s real goal.

He’s figured he can’t run again with this level of betrayal, so this is his parting shot at doing as much destruction as possible.  GovTrack doesn’t have a prognosis yet, but my guess is it has less than a 1% chance at passage if the GOP doesn’t blow the “red wave.”

Where does the party find subversive whores like this?

Collusion by Any Other Name

Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, along with Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti and a coalition of 22 other states, is alerting the Chief Executive Officers of three major credit card companies that the recent creation of a Merchant Category Code for the processing of firearms purchases from gun stores is potentially a violation of consumer protection and antitrust laws. [More]

You fellas are going to have to do more than alert them.

A ‘Commonsense Gun Law’ Democrat of Convictions

“I also just wanted to note, thank god the Republican Party is against gun control laws because it would keep guns out of the hands of a person that was disabled and volatile like I am, but you guys are totally against that. So I may actually get to carry out my nefarious goals”… [More]

And “convicted on two felony counts,” making him a “prohibited person”!

We’re the Only Ones Training Enough

The chief of the Platteville Police Department told 9NEWS Sunday that an officer has been placed on administrative leave after, investigators say, he put a suspect in his squad car parked on train tracks and a train hit the squad car, seriously injuring the suspect. [More]

Why do I envision him twirling his mustache and going “N’yah-ha-haaa”?

Probably because, even after years of “Only Ones” files, it’s hard to imagine anyone this stupid being given a gun and a badge.

By a Long Shot

The previous record of 4 miles set in 2020 was defeated by a 4.4-mile target hit in the high desert of western Wyoming. The bullet took 24 seconds to hit the 8-inch bullseye… [More]

Why does anyone need a dangerous “weapon of war” like that? And shouldn’t such mad skill be restricted?

And “a team of extreme long-range enthusiasts”? Like a right-wing conspiracy?

Holding Out for More

On Wednesday, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz went to the Senate floor to seek unanimous consent for his proposed school safety bill, but it was blocked. Senator Chris Murphy, Democrat of Connecticut, objected to the Cruz legislation and criticized him for not being serious. [More]

That means it doesn’t ban guns, so he’d rather more children be slaughtered until he gets a bill that does.
