From my own experience with the Secret Service at Trump media events:

The day of the event, the press was instructed to meet at one end of the huge complex to check in, pick up badges, and for those bringing in cameras and gear, preset equipment, which the Secret Service would check.

What I don’t know is everything protocol requires the equipment to be inspected for.

Doltish reporters Rebecca Shabad and Ryan J. Reilly breathlessly reported that “Rep. Mike Collins, R-Ga., falsely claimed in a lengthy post on X this morning that ‘thousands of peaceful grandmothers’ gathered Jan. 6, 2021, to take a tour of the U.S. Capitol building and that people peacefully explored the building.” They go on and on about “false” and “untrue” claims in Collins’ post, including some assertions that aren’t false. To paraphrase Rhett Butler, they should be dragged and often, and by someone who knows how.

They had a chance to sustain real journalism about guns and Mexico with Sharyl Attkisson, but instead decided that didn’t fit the approved narrative. They could’a been contenders instead of DSM bums, which is what they are, let’s face it.
