This posted when I’d already left for Texas, so I’m just getting to it now. I’ve got a ton of work to do to play catch-up on article commitments, so that will take priority over blogging here until I can clear the decks.

That means there will be story tips I can’t get to.

Slow Going Ahead

The Mrs. and I will be leaving Thursday morning for several days in Texas to visit younger feral son Qusay in his new digs.

I’ve got to go full bore tomorrow on article commitments and don’t foresee time for blog posts. As such, please hold off on emails/tips until next Monday as I just won’t be able to get to them and I don’t want anyone trying to be helpful to waste their time.

A few years back Mike and I helped obtain financing and made some introductions for a documentary and had a credited professional filmmaker ready to interview him but he decided it wasn’t in his interests at the time to keep talking (I’d heard on advice of counsel)– so it didn’t advance beyond a preview:

Here’s the problem with that as a political strategy:

Every gun owner, especially the new ones, is not necessarily a Republican, and not necessarily a 2A supporter over other issues like abortion.

Voter party demographics ensure Republicans are hopelessly outnumbered.

New Mexico Democrats understand how “pathway to citizenship” advocacy will only solidify and widen the gap and are organized and working continuously to make that happen.

And all credible polling and real-world experience tell us that will result in Democrat supermajorities that can pass and uphold any “law” they like. Why else does anyone think Chuck Schumer is pushing this for 30+M illegals?

Not to put too fine a point on things, but last time you weighed in on this, your position was:

“SAF and CCRKBA only deal with the issue of gun rights. While I personally oppose amnesty and a pathway to citizenship for people here illegally, immigration policy and issues like abortion, global warming, health care and others are not part of our mission statement, articles of incorporation or approval for our non-profit tax status.”

Yeah? If that has not changed, why not take the challenge…?

We’re the Only Ones Nondescriptive Enough

Activists who pushed for the policy argued police reports about transgender murder victims had repeatedly “misgendered” the victims by referring to their biological sex and “deadnamed” them by calling them by their names given at birth. [More]

So are they still going to misgender and deadname suspects, and will there be outrage?

And is it wrong to infer something unhealthy and self-destructive about choices going on…?

I disagree with the Gray Man comment. I note it was posted under an anonymous screen name.

Stand up judiciously, and when doing so is not self-defeating. Otherwise, giving intel to those who can and will use it against you is doing them a favor, particularly if civil disobedience is involved and you haven’t got the resources or laid the groundwork for a sustained and winnable defense.

The only ones served by low-hanging fruit are the “Only Ones.”
