A New York State of Mind

2 arrested in death of 11-year-old girl who was shot after buying milk at corner store… Two of the three suspects believed to be involved in the Jan. 16 shooting, an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, were arrested … The third suspect, a 16-year-old, is known to police and is a resident at a juvenile facility in the New York City area, where he was placed by a family court judge … He was “on a furlough from the facility”… [More]

Tell me this isn’t the best argument you’ve ever heard for disarming you and me.

We Hold These Truths to Be Self-Evident

Potentially lethal force may require defensive deadly force by Miguel A. Faria, MD [More]

Now is a good time to reacquaint ourselves with this 2016 classic from a medical expert who is also a champion of freedom.

You have his book(s), right?

This is kind of a side note that goes way off track, but all this information about cerebral contusions and subdural hematomas brings up an observation I had just last night while treating myself to reruns of Maverick on Tubi. He got knocked out twice in one episode with a gun butt, a trope that came up time and again on TV shows of the period, and that I recall was a pretty consistent plot device on this show in particular. That the “heroes” weren’t routinely killed or at least permanently disabled or vegetative tells us a bit about taking what we get from Hollywood seriously. Especially when they’re doing undisclosed bidding.

It also suggests where Rob may have gotten his “shoot-to-wound” nonsense from, and that brings me back full circle.

I’ll listen to a real expert.

A Trainer Wreck

But when Rob Pincus told FOX News he supported Biden’s ideas, even shooting a shotgun out a door to scare away bad guys, it was too much. Even with Pincus’ previous statements calling for more gun control, he had crossed the Rubicon. There was no going back. [More]

He crossed the Rubicon for me when he came unglued and went all ad hominem over questioning one of his fellow trainers supporting Hillary. He secured his position in the enemy camp when he teamed up with one of its leaders and then joined up with the kinder, gentler gun-grabbers.

That makes his allies subject to scrutiny too, in my book. They’re the ones who advise ignoring the greatest threat.

The thing is, he doesn’t care about burning bridges. He knows he can continue to make a good living off of Gun Culture 2.0, where useful idiots have their “allowed” guns, for now, as they witlessly vote in rulers aiming to change that as soon as they think they can.

UPDATE

In the interests of fairness, TTAG directs us to the documentation of incomplete quotes.

That has no bearing on my observations.

We’re the Only Ones Uninformative Enough

The police chief in the California city where 20 people were shot — 11 fatally — at a ballroom dance hall defended his decision not to warn the public for hours that a killer was on the loose, saying Wednesday he didn’t have enough information to effectively alert residents. [More]

“There’s a tiger on the loose, chief!”

“Bengal or Siberian…?”

The Black Hole

The Society of Professional Journalists launched the Black Hole Award to highlight the most heinous violations of the public’s right to know. By exposing such abuses, SPJ’s Freedom of Information Committee seeks to educate the public about their rights and call attention to those who would interfere with openness and transparency. SPJ is accepting nominations through Feb. 19. Please email nominations to SPJ Region 10 Coordinator Donald W. Meyers. The “winner” will be announced during Sunshine Week, March 12-18. [More]

Feel free to tell ’em. I can’t very well do it.

Zero Hour

Experts Move Doomsday Clock Closer to Midnight [More]

So the 90 seconds was up yesterday?

Kinda reminds me of the Millerites and Campings predicting the Rapture who gather their flocks for ascension and then come up with lame excuses when it doesn’t happen.

That’s probably because this is a world government-worshiping religious cult babbling in tongues, instead of presenting empirical, demonstrable, and repeatable “science.” So as long as we’re clear on that, here’s a passage from a text they all ridicule in feigned superiority that appears to be the only realistic assertion in the lot:

God only knows.

Yeah, well maybe they were “white Hispanics,” like George Zimmerman or Nick Fuentes…

UPDATE

And speaking of the latter, those with an agenda sure blow him up bigger than he is. I don’t consider myself insulated, but I just never see his name come up or taken seriously in the circles I move in and out of, yet I have all the hallmarks of someone he is represented as appealing to.

Me, I’m with Mike: Racism is a form of collectivism.

Of course, the commies at Mother Jones know all about that.
