Today’s 184-page preliminary injunction opinion in Antonyuk v. Hochul is the latest step in a challenge by Gun Owners of America, represented by Stephen Stamboulieh and Robert J. Olson.
SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t seen Winchester, a 2018 Hollywood hit piece on guns, and don’t want to know what happens, stop reading now.
I had a chance to watch it last night. I’d been curious to see it since it came out but not enough to pay money for.
It’s based on the real-life crazy heiress to the gun company whose story has been twisted to paint her as compelled to build and tear down senseless additions to her mansion because she was haunted by the spirits of those killed “by” Winchester firearms.
How fitting that such a character was portrayed by crazy anti-gun “movie star” Helen Mirren, firing off military weapons for action picture fame and fortune while simultaneously promoting global citizen disarmament right down to demanding “a total ban of replica guns.”
Naturally, the writers and everyone involved had no problem with the malevolent spirits blaming guns for all the killings, which is actually a pretty good analogy for their malevolent real-life counterparts. I also found it ironic (because the filmmakers didn’t) to see the protagonist, a drug-addicted gunquack, save the day by killing the head ghost with a magic bullet fired from a Winchester rifle.
We have so far preserved more than 1.9 million “ephemeral experiences” – exposure to short-lived content that impacts people and then disappears, leaving no trace – that Google and other companies are able to use to shift opinions and voting preferences, and we expect to have captured more than 2.5 million by Election Day. A gang that preys on gay men at Hell’s Kitchen nightclubs is suspected of killing at least two victims and of drugging and robbing more than a dozen other men — but Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office is impeding the investigation, law enforcement sources say. [More]
I trust no one expects him to choose between which group it’s more politically advantageous for Democrats to pander to or ignore…
Unless we elect unabashed globalist socialists intent on confiscating guns and canceling all opposing thoughts, “fascists” who believe in limited and Constitutional government and a Bill of Rights culture, and “alter[ing] or [abolishing]” “any Form of Government … destructive of these ends” are going to mess up everything we’ve worked so hard to tear down!
It’s almost like they’re laying the foundation for insurrection if things don’t go their way tomorrow…
I would hope by now everyone here would have done their own due diligence but in the absence of everything else gun owners could do worse than using this guide. [More]
What do your state “gun rights groups” say about those and local races?
Soon it will be our task to fight against the Republican insiders who are licking their chops at the feast they see set before them. Many of them are mirror images of the Democrat consulting class, indifferent to outcomes as long as the gravy train continues. [More]
One longtime former co-worker in the television news business recalled that Kari Lake detested guns and practiced Buddhism. Another former local news anchor, Stephanie Angelo, who did not work with Ms. Lake but later became close friends with her, described Ms. Lake back then as “a free spirit” and “liberal to the core.” [More]
It is with great sadness we report that Agustin Blazquez passed away October 27th, 2022 in Bethesda, Maryland at age 78, from a stroke. Agustin was my dear friend of thirty years, and also my artistic collaborator as producer-director of The Trump Effect: Deprogramming the American Mind (2017). [More]
Laurence Jarvik gives a comprehensive and fitting tribute to a man whose loss everyone who values freedom should mourn.
Agustin Blazquez, Founding Member of ACAT’s Speakers Bureau – R.I.P.
Agustin fled Cuban communism and eventually settled in the United States. His tenacity and insight into the communist mind are sorely missed. Agustin produced numerous films underlining the deficiencies of communism in theory and practice. Don’t miss ‘Che Guevara: Castro’s Executioner’ above (tens of thousands of views!), and ‘Promises, Promises – How the Communists Betrayed the Cuban People’ on ACAT’s Videos page.
On this site:
The story of Agustin’s exodus from Cuba: I was leaving all the past, both my family which I loved and suffering and fear of persecution.
Love letter to America: I love and I’m proud of America because it’s a country that opens its doors and gives you a second chance to begin a new life with freedom of choice.
Notes on the harassment of the political Right in America today which is straight out of the communist playbook – ‘Acts of Repudiation’
I was struck by a recent article in the “popular press” on “beloved influential icons we’ve lost in 2022” and noted the lead-off was a rapper shot to death by cronies during a bowling alley craps game. I could only shake my head at the pH factor absurdity of how “our” manipulating cultural narrative drivers direct public attention.
That, of course, is part of a plan.
When the self-important “Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences” goes through its “complete” list of departed luminaries at its next awards ceremony, you can bet the documentary filmmaker who deserved recognition and honor throughout his career — and a posthumous lifetime achievement award now — will remain unmentioned as the glitterati goes about its task of furthering cultural degeneracy while lauding fellow perverts and subversives.
It’s up to us to honor and remember the man. You can start by setting aside some time to learn about his work, and then by sharing it.
And Lula, of course, being an old socialist, is against guns, but Congress may stand in his way. No problem though, because we’re told he can put in place by decree “what Brazil had before.”
Iowa City is taking a stance against a proposed gun rights amendment to the Iowa Constitution that is up for a vote in next week’s midterms. City Council members passed a resolution opposing Public Measure Number One earlier this week. [More]
