In Like a Lion

Mountain lion attacks boy, 7, at Southern California park [More]

Hell of a thing to have to charge weaponless against. You wonder what the father would have done had the cat fought back.  When I lived there and went into the wilderness with my sons, I never had nothing.

Predators Stopped in Their Tracks by Hackneyed Platitude

As he spoke, an audience member yelled out, “Violence doesn’t solve violence.”

“It actually is the only thing that does,” Cruz said. [More]

It’d be nice to see that genius get an opportunity to personally prove the effectiveness of his alternatives.

What? He doesn’t have any except to make you defenseless?

This is another example of why I never debate with antis.

Convenience Store Clerk’s Execution Shows Danger of ‘Giving Robbers What They Want’

They’re forbidden to have the means of defense. Instead, those who demand they stay this way offer useless advice guaranteed to leave them at the mercy of those who have none: “Give them what they want.” [More]

The question must be asked: “What if what they want is your life?”

Gun-Toting Grandson Unloads on Shooters When Grandma’s Birthday Party Erupts in Gunshots [More]

If my admitted presumption about the defender and his family is correct, that means the gun-grabbers would rather see innocent minorities killed than armed.

We know they would regardless, but that would kind of put an exclamation point on it.

‘A’ for Effort, ‘C’ for Execution

“Suspects forcibly entered a business with weapons & exchange of gunfire occurred as the store owner defended himself. The suspects fled in 2 vehicles n/b onto the 405,” the Huntington Beach Police Department tweeted. “The store owner was not injured, & a customer suffered minor lacerations from broken glass. HBPD Detectives are on scene as the investigation into this incident continues.” [More]

Sounds like he should take some lessons from Lance Thomas

Let’s hope the customer isn’t a d**k.

Clean-Up on Aisle Four

In the face of rising theft and violence — and pressure from terrified employees — grocery stores and other retailers are arming themselves with armed security guards. [More]

I don’t know the stores in question, but from a quick check, it looks like one of them, Hy-Vee, is not knuckling under to Shannon Watts and her band of indignant internet cud-chewers on customer carry.

A Happy Outcome

17-year-old shoots and kills two masked men breaking into his home [More]

Everyone who demands guns be kept locked up and separate from ammunition, and forbidden to anyone under 21, would rather the attackers had killed everyone inside, especially since that would have given them more fuel to pour on the “gun violence” fire to demand new bans.

Reports implying the home invasion was targeted don’t change the fact that even if it turns out in grand jury findings that the teenager had previous dealings with the perps, what he did in this instance was justified.

I Wonder How [Insert Grabber Name Here] Would Have Fared

He was able to pull out his firearm and shoot the suspect four times in the chest… Mendez is now speaking out about the importance of the Second Amendment and how law-abiding, armed Americans can help end shootings before they claim more lives.  [More]

I’d argue with limiting positive outcomes exclusively to the “law-abiding,” but otherwise, yeah.

Tucker Carlson: “Our Entire Country Will Be Memphis if We Don’t Put a Stop to This Insanity Right Now” [More]

I’m debating with myself on whether I want to write more on this or not. There are some points frequently made here that I don’t see anyone else hitting very hard on, if at all. In any case, there’s already stuff in the pipeline that comes first.

Much to Their Astonishment

Shocking moment Chicago woman is attacked and robbed at gunpoint by group of men on sidewalk in broad daylight: Terrified residents of upscale neighborhood say they never expected this to happen on ‘quiet block’ [More]

No need for smoke detectors and fire extinguishers– we haven’t had one of those around here since forever…

I bet Sharon Tate probably thought she lived in a pretty safe neighborhood, too.

You can improve the odds. You can’t eliminate them.

And why does the Vulcan crew of the Intrepid come to mind?

No Thanks to the Gungrabbers

An alleged would-be carjacker in Chicago is now in critical condition after being shot by his own victim on the west side of the city. [More]

If it wasn’t the norm, the question of how many times this mutt has been caught and released wouldn’t be my first one. My second question is what’s his survival and continued care going to cost taxpayers?

My next question is who but a tyrant or a useful idiot would rather the victim had been killed rather than armed?

I note my local “news ” channel wants helpless surrender to be the default instead of preparedness, training, and will.

Give them what they want, we are urged, which brings me to my last question.

What if what they want is you?

It’s your life being threatened, not your property.

They say that like there’s some doubt…

That the cops let her go is a good indicator– if there was a problem with her story, separate interrogations of — and story comparisons between — the 12 and 14-year-olds will reveal inconsistencies soon enough.

A ‘Feel Good Story’ to Make You Smile

After the Brazilian government permitted the killing of motor cycle riders who rob & kill citizens – in order to put an end to this menace, this is what the citizens there are doing!!! When Law Enforcement do not do their job, citizens will… [Watch]

And no, I don’t know how true that is, but who doesn’t love a happy ending?

It’ll be a sad one if they put Lula back in power.
