On Regaining Trust

We live in a time of hyper skepticism. Folks in leadership roles who do not grasp that simple but very relevant concept are destined for failure. NRA needs to be very forthcoming on information concerning any changes to Bylaws well in advance of the formal process. If you do not get the membership on your side you feed the conspiracy mills and once going they are hard to stop. [More]

Good and perceptive comment to my latest…

Along with that, I hope they drop two words from all member appeals.

Rest assured.

To each according to his wants, from each unearned demands?

Kids in candy stores will eat themselves sick. And look at all the miserable celebrities. With the judgment and intelligence exhibited by most, expect deaths from surfeit to skyrocket.

This seems like a purposeless existence where nothing is earned and everything is considered an entitlement. And since when is being a welfare parasite elevating for either the individual or the populace?

Who owns the means of production in this Utopia, and what do they expect in return?

Who will rule?

Sounds like somebody’s been influenced by too much Trekonomics.

Proposed Change to NRA Bylaws Raises Concerns about Member Rights and Law

Why not include members who will be directly affected in that discussion, especially since the focus of “NRA 2.0” is represented as being about transparency and renewed commitments to integrity? [More]

Keeping members informed and soliciting their input on matters of importance should be standard operating procedure for the Board.

Death of the West

“Historians will look back at the wreckage of a once-great American civilization and note with wonder that tens of millions of people who were entirely dependent upon government welfare payments were nonetheless allowed to vote. Even to include millions of illiterate 3rd world illiterate aliens who snuck in, then were put on welfare, and were given driver’s licenses and social security numbers, so they could vote in elections to give themselves more welfare. Eventually, the historians will agree that America committed mass collective suicide, because obviously such insane policies could never be contemplated by a rational people.” – Matt Bracken [More]

That makes those who enable it even more treasonous.

Good thing this has nothing to do with that “single issue.”

City Council voted 10-0 Monday night, Dec. 15, to direct city staff to remove all neighborhood watch signs in the city by July 15 as the city strives to be more welcoming and inclusive. “This is so important,” said Council Member Ayesha Ghazi Edwin, D-3rd Ward. [More]

The story is illustrated with a picture of a police officer arresting a suspect. A normal reader would probably assume that it is a photo of the perp in the story–Mohamed Mansarry–being arrested. Only, it isn’t… [More]

The Company She Keeps

Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett co-rented a car in 2006 with a previously convicted robber whose car crash caused her to be sued for damages at the start of her law career, records obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation show. [More]

It’s a real insight into the content of her character that Budget had to sue her and she played the entitlement card by saying the contract was invalid. Especially when she’s doing it again by stiffing her condo association for owed dues.

Ditto for Soweto. No wonder Jasmine wants us to be disarmed:

I’d say she did us a favor by running for Senate where she’ll be creamed, but anyone hateful, envious, and stupid enough to vote for her in the first place will happily elect another scammer, and they’ll be happy to take her back if she decides to reconsider.

The Democrat machine is already sending strong signals that she needs to.

An Inconvenient Truth

You cannot meaningfully reduce the number of guns in the United States without building a system capable of finding them, compelling disclosure, and forcibly removing them when people decline to cooperate. [More]

And yes:

We believe gun-control advocates – or their leadership anyway – consider the deeply totalitarian implications she draws out to be not a bug but a feature. We think they want to shape the kind of society in which the kind of total. smothering force she describes can be exerted, much more than they want to “reduce gun violence” or any of the other goals they talk about.

It’s not about guns. It’s about freedom.

And having history to show us what totalitarians are capable of, it’s existential.
