I’m guilty of not reading things more carefully. In way of excuse-making, the appeal I responded to a few days back generated an email, and that’s where my head was still at when I got this new one.

Anyway, I called the number– twice, because each time it said to complete the call I had to press two digits and both times it disconnected me without allowing me to speak to anyone or leave a message.

Might I suggest another way that will not only make sure the message is delivered but also shows others how they can join in?

With actions like checking to see if neighbors had cameras that recorded the incident, it sounds like the defender’s detention was procedural. What’s unclear is how this will affect his livelihood, because it’s not like many people whose economic prospects make them choose to be delivery drivers have a lot of other options.

On the plus side, if he delivered for DoorDash, I can’t find any policy explicitly forbidding independent contractors from being lawfully armed. Maybe I shouldn’t have said anything, because it’d be just like the hysterical b_s at Moms Demand Action to start a harassment campaign.
