Guns, abortion, voting: New state laws on host of contentious issues take effect this week [More]

Theh thought strikes that “real reporters” KINSEY CROWLEY AND SARA CHERNIKOFF of USA Today (a Gannett Publication) would be right at home writing press releases for Giffords.

And I guess it doesn’t enter what passes for the idiot sign holder’s mind that a man with murder on his mind wouldn’t need a gun, and if he did and she had one, he’d be.

The Opposite Effect

If they thought they were going to dampen suspicions by giving him something, it looks like they made things worse.

I would not want to be this guy, especially noting how expendable he now is, and how anything happening to him after he gets out can be made to fit the narrative.

With Republicans Like These

Rep. John Andrews, R-Paris, said his party’s first priority with regard to firearms would be protecting the state and federal rights of gun owners. But he planned to introduce a bill in the coming session he believed would save lives and protect licensed gun sellers at the same time—through a so-called “yellow alert system.” “If someone does something to trigger a statewide alert, FFLs (Federal Firearms Licenses)—or gun dealers—would get a text and a photo—kind of like an Amber Alert,” Andrews explained. “We would call it a yellow alert system—basically telling them, ‘Do not sell to this person. They are either wanted by the police or are in crisis.'” [More]

Do us a favor and stop “protecting” us.

Let’s Hear It for ‘Vigilante Gun Violence’!

Witnesses told police a male suspect robbed the restaurant at gunpoint, firing shots at an employee. Police say the 21-year-old employee returned fire, striking the robber. [More]

For those who say violence is not the answer…

Sometimes it’s the only one.

Especially considering the problem that needs solving.

EXPLOSIVE: Liz Cheney’s J6 Committee DELETED OR DESTROYED Interview with Top Secret Service Official Robert Engel – That Likely Would Exonerate Trump! – WAR ROOM VIDEO [More]

If this wasn’t evidence of a criminal conspiracy at the highest levels it would be the Department of Justice using all the resources at its disposal to uncover the truth instead of Steve Bannon.

Funny, how quiet the DSM is about this…

Here’s a question I don’t know the answer to, and a cursory search shows it’ll be quicker if I just ask somebody who knows:

Is there a records retention law binding on congressional committees with criminal penalties for disregarding?

Doesn’t Fit the Profile

The preliminary investigation “confirmed a high probability” that the incident is not connected to “recent threats against the Colorado Supreme Court Justices,” the Colorado State Patrol said. [More]

Forget that the creepy loser perp has a 20+ year history of thefts and drug crimes. There’s a “greatest threat” narrative to exploit here, and if they can’t, expect the story to quietly go away.

Too bad. The DSM had a “By their low-hanging fruits ye shall know them” quote ready to exploit:

One user on a far-right, pro-Trump website posted, “All f— robed rats must f— hang,” an apparent reference to the Colorado justices.

Sounds like something a provocateur would post…

Politico’s Jonathan Martin Can’t Understand Why Anyone’s Talking About the News When There’s FOOTBALL On [More]

I have to say I can’t understand why anyone is surprised that Harvard is run by subversive leeches or expect them to behave any differently, or that when cornered the cowards would throw one of their own under the bus, but I gotta say I’m getting a kick out of seeing another Prizker exposed for what they all are.

And I totally understand why “real reporters” are what they are and do what they do. Martin is the “journalist” who figured the best way to end an article about Obama grilling “would-be appointees” with personal questions about their guns with this quote:

“The real question is whether he’s doing harm to the broader image of Democrats on guns, and the answer is probably no,” he said. “It may gin up 350,000 hard-core NRA types, but it won’t really bother 65 million other gun owners.”

People who live in glass houses ‘n all…

People with something to lose is the key for people who don’t fear losing the little they have left. And that holds especially true for people who have much to lose.

Strange, how that makes me think of Clausewitz

And it all seems applicable here, as well…

Say, who wants to bring in some “refugees”?

Rendezvous with Rama

Authorities said the gun was not registered to Rakesh and that he was not licensed to possess it. State Police are working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to investigate where the gun originated. [More]

Noting he was an Indian immigrant, I’m more interested if he was a Democrat in favor of politicial lampreys imposing MA gun edicts…

As WarOnGuns Correspondent Edmund M observes:

Massachusetts requires that all firearm transfers (among individuals and from a FFL) be reported to the Division of Public Safety (State Police). A License to Carry Firearms is required to possess a pistol within your residence. An unregistered firearm possessed by an unlicensed individual is a double whammy of ungoodness in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A former head of Harvard Business School Online managed to figure out how to acquire a firearm outside the system of bureaucratic hurdles, something that requires no formal education to accomplish.
