My fantasy of forcing ATF to surrender my property back to me may not be so unrealistic provided SCOTUS doesn’t flake out…?
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Tuesday directed its attorneys to draft a series of ordinances aimed at regulating gun sales and possession in the county, including a ban on the sale of .50-caliber handguns and ammunition in unincorporated areas. Another proposed ordinance would require “buffer zones” between gun/ammunition dealers and “sensitive areas” such as schools, day care centers and parks in unincorporated areas. Another would ban the possession of firearms on all county property. [More]
SCOTUS said “historical understanding,” not “hysterical understanding”…

It shall be unlawful for a person, on or after the effective date of the revocation of a license issued to the person under this chapter to import, manufacture, or deal in firearms, or (in the case that the application of the person to renew such a license is denied) on or after the date the license expires, to … transfer to any other person (except a person licensed under this chapter or a Federal, State, or local law enforcement agency) a firearm that was a business inventory firearm of the person as of the effective date or expiration date, as the case may be. Ah, yes, the Kick ’em While They’re Down Act.
A “1% chance of being enacted” tells me they’d love to do this if they could, but they can’t, at least not now, so be aware of this but don’t let it be a distraction from focusing attention and energy on more immediate threats.

Alabama sheriffs and the head of the state’s county commission association are sounding alarms about the financial implications of removing concealed carry permit revenues from their budgets. The cuts could be deep for county sheriffs and could shave off up to 50% or more from an agency’s budget within the next year. [More]
Poor babies! Similar measures wiped out the poll tax collectors industry!
Naturally, hysterical Shannon Watts is tying “shall not be infringed” in with “defund the police.”

Neither one mentions the communist solidarity marchers behind Amalgamated. I wonder why they don’t think it important for people to know who our Democrat politicians and woke banks are listening to…
And the only one nominally on “our side” who is talking about it and who makes the Google News feed is Glenn Beck.

The order ends a legal effort that started in August of 2021 and grants ATF its wish that the case involving Hunter Biden is dropped. [More]
Of course, we’re disappointed. And of course, nobody’s surprised.
In a letter today to FTC Chair Khan, the senators highlighted the firearms industry’s efforts to mislead consumers about the safety of guns and the employment of advertising tactics that target children and teenagers – including using video games, popular musicians and television shows, and even Santa Claus to market its deadly products. There is no level of obsession too ludicrous for these power freaks to demand control over. None.

Hochul is saying she will comply with the Bruen rulings by making it more difficult to acquire a concealed handgun carry license. In other words, “I, Kathy Hochul, will comply with the Bruen rulings by not complying with them.” Huh! [More]
This will continue until rights enforcement slaps cuffs on her and all her co-conspirators.
Besides which, the DSM has dumbed enough constituents in “our democracy” down enough to be on her side.

And here’s the significant part, because we all know “conservative” is a relative term that means different things at different times and in different places:

It ain’t “shall not be infringed,” but it’s a hell of a “good first step.”

That “cash, electronics and other valuables” were “left behind” suggests that the object of the break-in was to get the guns, making fair the question of who knew Bass had them and how it is that they knew. [More]
It sounds like there’s a lot more to this story than has been revealed, but even if there’s not, the in-your-face hypocrisy alone ought to disqualify this self-serving hypocrite from office. Which means L.A. Democrats will be lining up to vote for her in droves…

Well, Captain Parker, if you refuse to cooperate we’re going to pay you a visit when you’re alone and we’re in force. Either that or you can sign this surrender decree, and Heaven help you if we find you’re lying…

In celebration of New York’s new gun control law taking effect on September 1, Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul claimed: “This whole concept that a good guy with a gun will stop the bad guys with a gun, it doesn’t hold up. And the data bears this out, so that theory is over.” [More]

Yes, of course, she’s an in-your-face grabber. I submitted an AmmoLand draft elaborating on that over the weekend. There’s one ahead of it in the queue, so give ’em a few days.

The environmental cases are like gun-grabbers. They’re never satisfied with the incremental concessions they gain today but use those as secured objectives from which to launch their next incursions in a relentless march toward their end goals. [More]
Letting someone else control your thermostat in a heat wave makes as much sense as letting someone else control your gun during a life and death threat.
