I’m reminded of the way things used to be, and that reminds me of a family story.

I had an uncle who was a former Marine (WWII AND Korea) who ran the Post Office at Camp Pendleton. One day a general came in who had risen through the ranks and my uncle had been his sergeant when he had started out. The general greeted him warmly and couldn’t praise him enough for what his leadership had meant to him as the two brothers in arms with mutual loyalties recalled old times.

How many packages do you think were stolen from that facility?

I saw these comments under an article about Bradley Cooper as Leonard Bernstein that I was looking at for God only knows what reason and they struck me as the only thing that interested me.

And as far as the prosthetic nose thing being offensive goes, only if people are loo0king to be offended. One of my favorite movie characters of all time was Anthony Quinn as Auda Abu Tayi in Lawrence of Arabia, to the point that I use “I am a river to my people” as my standard reply to family and friends thanking me for something.
