Notes from the Resistance
The grass is up over my ankles and we’re expecting rain over the weekend. That means if I don’t do it now it will be so high it’ll take me twice as long, and it’s already a 3+ hour job.
I see no shortage of inbox tips already awaiting attention. I’ll get to what I can when I’m back in my chair this afternoon.
Please hold off on sending in more because I just won’t be able to get to it.
The Second Amendment Foundation has filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in support of Smith & Wesson in its legal fight against the government of Mexico, which seeks to hold the American gun manufacturer liable for criminal acts of third parties in Mexico. [More]
Yes, real threats from the open border directly impact the “single issue” in more ways than one.
Everyone realizes the government there would not exist without cartel sanction? A loyal American State Department would have Obrador on the carpet begging us not to cut back on trade and handout benefits.
We’ve all read the headlines, “Guns are the number one killer of kids in America.” Unfortunately, that headline is grossly misleading. [More]
Factor out adolescent/young adult products of absent, immoral, and incompetent parenting, and then what’s it look like?
“Are you raising your eyebrows at me?” Merchan shouted at Costello. “Were you staring at me?” He sounded like a paranoid schizophrenic. A nut on the street. The psychopath in the movie Taxi Driver. [More]
Is anyone under the illusion he’s anything but a Democrat apparatchik?
One critique: The way this is presented with the byline “By James,” it’s not clear if this is his voice or Dershowitz’s…

“We are suing the state of Texas and we’re also suing, down the line, we’ll be suing the federal government,” Koskoff said. [More]
With no deep pockets going unpicked.

Despite being allegedly armed with a gun and apprehended at the scene of a shooting incident, Judge David Kelly released Torres-Roman from custody. Torres-Roman already ignored a scheduled hearing on May 13. [More]
It’s kind of a thing with him.

Behar: People Who Wear MAGA Hats Should ‘Put a Swastika’ on It [More]
They’re gonna ride that lie for all it’s worth.
There is literally no difference between “mainstream” ABC’s message and Antifa’s.

Hundreds of Fast and Furious firearms have previously been traced to other shootings in Mexico. The new leak indicates hundreds more are still being found. [More]
So change the subject by trying to blame major gun retailers in an attempt to do the same thing the original plot tried to do: Enact more infringements.
I may do more on this.

SCOTUS urged to hear Mexico’s lawsuit blaming US gun makers for cartel violence – GOP AGs say ‘anti-gun activists’ trying to blame US gun manufacturers for Mexico’s bad policy choices [More]
Once more I see my guy, Dave Yost, AWOL…
And once more I’ll ask him why.

It would specifically ban civilian use of armor that meets or exceeds Level 3 ballistic resistance, which protects against rifle ammunition. The proposed legislation only seeks to enforce civilian usage while allowing military and police personnel to use the armor. [More]
The violence monopolists want the state to be able to disarm you and to kill you.

The short version is that Oberlin College asserted that the insurers wrongfully refused to settle the case prior to trial, blaming the insurers not the college for the ultimate trial debacle… [More]
I’m surprised anyone will still insure them. Those companies are quick enough to cancel gun owners.
I’ve been following Oberlin happenings for a while, and for a while before that.
Coincidentally, guess what I just happen to be wearing right now, seriously, not staged or I’d have done my hair:
And as long as we’re on the subject of insurance claims, let me introduce you to one of my guilty entertainment pleasures…

Received via email from WarOnGuns Correspondent Scott J:
Nearly every time the “news” tells you about a car wreck fatality, they tell you “they were not wearing a seat belt”.
Why don’t they tell you every time a person is attacked and killed, “they were not carrying a gun”?
That presumes it’s “news.”
“It speaks to guns in America,” said Chester Mayor Stefan Roots, who said his small city has enjoyed a period of relative calm in recent years, with violent crime on the decline. “Violence is always unpredictable. We don’t know what conditions people are under, in a city that’s impoverished like ours.” [More]
Actually, Stefan, it speaks to incompetent Democrat rule. It speaks to people who would elect a collectivist dolt you.
