Weapons of Boar

I was shooting a 6mm ARC rifle… [More]

Hold the phone just a damn second here…

Over at the Wilson Combat site, they say “The 6mm ARC was designed by Hornady to be the highest performance long-range cartridge available in a standard AR platform rifle. Initially tested and fielded by US Special Operations forces…

“Combat…”?

“Special forces…”?

Mr. Biden’s not going to like that.

You think hogs have Kevlar vests..?

It’s almost like the antis have been lying to us about hunting. Or everything.

I’ve been corresponding with Herschel since like forever, but we’ve never met in real life and I don’t recall if I’ve ever seen a picture of him before. It’s nice seeing him looking vigorous and happy, which, knowing you’ve achieved something through your efforts, perseverance and skill can bring out in us all.

Up in Smoke

A federal judge on Friday dismissed a lawsuit from Florida’s agriculture commissioner that challenged a ban on medical marijuana patients’ rights to buy and possess firearms. [More]

So when are they going to arrest her?

And no, of course, I don’t agree with the ban. I just can’t help but notice she’d be happy to arrest us for “violating” citizen disarmament laws she agrees with.

I wonder if the “conservative” High Court’s Bruen decision with its “historical understanding” benchmark will end up saving her.

Who Couldn’t See THAT Coming?

Gov. Ned Lamont said this week that he wants to go after thousands of firearms legally kept in Connecticut under several “grandfather” provisions in the state’s decades-old assault weapons ban… [More]

What, the ones Connecticut gun owners naively registered?

Conversion ‘Therapy’

Rand says ATF should consider using its authority to reclassify certain types of firearms that are easily converted into fully automatic weapons, similar to what they did in the 1980s with the KG-9 and the MAC-10. Lots of firearms besides Glocks also are “readily convertible” into machine guns by using tools to reconfigure them or adding parts, she said. [More]

Like VPC has been signaling everyone since 1988:

The weapons’ menacing looks, coupled with the public’s confusion over fully automatic machine guns versus semi-automatic assault weapons—anything that looks like a machine gun is assumed to be a machine gun—can only increase the chance of public support for restrictions on these weapons.

Anybody out there still foolish enough to believe the bump stock ban was about bump stocks?

The Dotard in Chief

BIDEN: “My legislation says there can be no more than eight bullets in a round, okay?” 🤔 pic.twitter.com/LxmTk9EjyC— RNC Research (@RNCResearch) October 24, 2022

And we know who he’ll get to enforce that!

I’m still not clear on something, though: Is that more or less than a “30 magazine clip?

And Another One

“Nick was the big, rowdy one,” a neighbor of his brother Nathaniel told The Post on Thursday. “He was the big, funny one, a big teddy bear. He was huge. Big guy, but sweet as pie… He is said to have called 911 at 10:29 p.m. and waited with an AR-15-style gun for officers to arrive, according to the station. [More]

My guess is someone who knew him better would describe him differently.

Every Terrible Implement

CONNECTICUT CITIZENS DEFENSE LEAGUE AND SECOND AMENDMENT FOUNDATION SUE CT OVER BAN ON MODERN SPORTING ARMS [More]

I dunno– “in Common Use for Lawful Purposes Throughout the United States” seems to exclude everything that’s not, including what will be developed in the future.

As noted:

The Supreme Court, in its infamous Miller decision, nonetheless recognized the function of the Militia, defined as “all males physically capable of acting in concert for the common defense [and] bearing arms supplied by themselves and of the kind in common use at the time,” was — and still is — to field citizen soldiers. These citizens bore arms that were suitable for that purpose, “ordinary military equipment” intended to be taken into “common defense” battles. The Militia did not assemble on the green bearing clubs and spears. They came with the intent to match and best a professional military threat. A modern Militia would require citizens to keep and bear exactly what the gun-grabbing politicians are trying to take away from them, what they pejoratively denounce as “weapons of war.”

And as noted:

Second Amendment will be Nullified if ‘Common Use’ is Restricted to ‘Popularity’

Active shooter at Arkansas hospital; feds, local police responding [More]

I can hear the grabbers now:

“Please let it be a white conservative with an assault rifle, please let it be a white conservative with an assault rifle…”

This is where developments will break.

UPDATE

It’s over. One killed and they’re not saying who’s in custody yet.

With Republicans Like These

The Federal Assault Weapons Licensing Act, debuted by U.S. Rep. Chris Jacobs (D-NY) on Monday, would create a scheme for any American seeking to legally purchase most new semi-auto rifles, shotguns, or pistols that would require the government to first sign off on the acquisition. [More]

Wrong, Guns.com. He’s an NRA-endorsed Republican and one of the usual suspects. And registration is just the first step toward this lying sack’s real goal.

He’s figured he can’t run again with this level of betrayal, so this is his parting shot at doing as much destruction as possible.  GovTrack doesn’t have a prognosis yet, but my guess is it has less than a 1% chance at passage if the GOP doesn’t blow the “red wave.”

Where does the party find subversive whores like this?

Temporary Relief

U.S. District Judge Charlotte Sweeney, a Biden appointee, issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) on Tuesday against Boulder County. It stops enforcement of the county’s ban on the manufacture and sale of assault weapons, which include the popular AR-15, and ammunition magazines capable of holding more than ten rounds. [More]

So what’s it take to get a PRO?

Oregon Safeway shooting: Multiple people dead after gunman opens fire at grocery store… The suspect opened fire in the parking lot with an AR-15 style rifle. [More]

Just in time for the ballot measure!

Note the suspect hasn’t been ID’d yet. My beef with gun advocates who say don’t “give him fame” is that by leaving him anonymous, interested parties can ignore/clean up internet tracks when they have someone who doesn’t fit an exploitable narrative.

30 Days or Else

Sorry. That’s extortion. At this point, it has become appropriate to tell them to go **** themselves. And if half a dozen show up to protest, watch that deemed newsworthy.

Looks like a private group. With 2.8K “members,” my bet is there’s some serious AstroTurfing going on.  What are they trying to hide?

And they don’t appear to be strong enough supporters to all sign the online petition.

This appears to be the guy auditioning for national exposure.

This Ought to Make the Demonization a Lot Easier!

Reps. Seth Moulton (D-MA) and Veronica Escobar (D-TX) are pushing the “Mass Shooter Prosecution Act,” which would open mass shooters and their “support networks” up to terrorism charges in the event the shooters use guns Democrats typically label “assault weapons.” [More]

Who do they think they are? Jim Zumbo?

Curious, how their instinct is to defend themselves. It’s almost like you could use that against them during their attack — if you were only “allowed” to…

And just when I thought I couldn’t have any less respect for the parents:

Mr Greenberg fought back against critics via Twitter on Wednesday morning, arguing that the parents are being scapegoated by the “system” when the focus should instead be on easy access to military-grade assault weapons.

Yeah, make it about disarming the rest of us. @$$holes.
