Lawless Enough for Government Work

CCDL RESPONDS TO GOVERNOR LAMONT’S LATEST ROUND OF ANTI-GUN PROPOSALS [More]

An open carry ban and purchase limits — just like the Founders intended.

And no, of course that’s not all the tyrant demands.

Interesting, who these control freaks presume the law is supposed to protect…

When will in-your-face defiance of a coequal branch of government and suppression of unalienable rights be properly considered the insurrectionary seditious conspiracy that it is?

Who’s Responsible?

‘Publix denies any liability’ for grandmother, toddler’s murders in Florida grocery store [More]

Ordinarily, I’d agree unless deliberate indifference to known dangers could be demonstrated. We are generally responsible for our own defense. Still, statements against customers being armed don’t help discourage predators, although, in Florida, open carry outside of specifically defined limited circumstances still isn’t an option.

As for companies that disallow any kind of carry, I’d like to see more gun owners hand the manager this card and spread the word about his refusal to sign it:

Clean-Up on Aisle Four

In the face of rising theft and violence — and pressure from terrified employees — grocery stores and other retailers are arming themselves with armed security guards. [More]

I don’t know the stores in question, but from a quick check, it looks like one of them, Hy-Vee, is not knuckling under to Shannon Watts and her band of indignant internet cud-chewers on customer carry.

A Good First Step

A federal judge who was appointed by former President Donald Trump has ruled that a Texas law banning anyone under 21 from carrying handguns in public violates the Constitution. [More]

Excellent! Just don’t forget there’s still a ways to go

I’m wondering if the grabbers will appeal…

Rough Around the Edgewater

With only one dissenting vote, the city of Edgewater has officially banned the open carry of firearms, with at least one city council member attempting to tie the carrying of guns to white supremacy… At a June 7 meeting, Councilmember Hannah Gay Keao — who doubles as a Mom’s Demand Action gun control activist — suggested language be added to the ordinance stipulating that gun violence can be mostly attributed to white supremacy, a trait at least one other council member then connected to right-of-center political ideology. So that explains Chicago, DC, Baltimore, St. Louis…

And don’t worry: She doesn’t want to allow concealed carry, either.

These people just open their mouths and spew and it doesn’t matter what erupts. They have a ready audience of cultists ready to lick it up and gulp it down.

Naturally, she also demands power.

More Than a Feeling

“So, yes, I understand the Second Amendment. I understand, you know, bearing arms, but we also need to make sure that we can ensure that folks feel safe in their communities.” [More]

Feelings. Nothing more than feelings.

Seeing as how the ones doing the killings aren’t eligible to take advantage of the open carry law, I don’t suppose there are any, you know, individual choices your congregants could make that would have more of an effect…?

And that’s a pretty big “but” you’ve got there, pastor.

Some Shortcomings of Open Carry [More]

He makes some good points.

So do some of his critics. The angry and rude hostility that comes out in some of the responses though, when people believe they are anonymous and therefore not accountable, makes me wonder how many behave like that face-to-face.

For the record: I have written to Mike DeWine and the two governors before him in my state, Ohio, to get the “Only Ones” trained to stop threatening and assaulting open carriers. But I don’t personally open carry for the same reason I won’t rack a shotgun slide to “scare away” an intruder.
