That’s One Solution…

Pass a bill guaranteeing qualified immunity and let’s talk. Can we also do it to these domestic enemies? And these…?

Or, how about this as an alternative?

As a side note, look at all the indignant leftists screaming about rights. Funny, how subjective they are when it comes to freedom of political expression.

Passing the Hat

Robert Kerr Elementary School in Durand, Michigan, encouraged students to wear hats of their choice for a “hat day” event two years ago. The daughter of Adam Stroub, who filed the lawsuit on her behalf, wore a black hat featuring a white star, an image of an AR-15, and the phrase “Come and Take It,” a set of symbols frequently used to support the right to bear arms. Michael Papanek, a behavioral specialist at the school, noticed the hat and alerted school principal Amy Leffel, who asked Papanek to contact her parents and ask them to bring another hat for her to wear. [More]

Did anyone come in one of these?

Schools have dress codes. I’d file this under “Pick your battles more wisely.”

The real issue is public schools.

Choice of Battleground

Around 700 protestors showed up to protest his appearance, chanting slogans like ‘no justice, no peace,’ ‘Kyle is a killer,’ and ‘lock his ass up.’ [More]

I’m debating going next Tuesday.

Outside can be dangerous enough. That it’s inside the KIVA Auditorium makes avoiding expected trouble problematic.

I’m not confident promoters have thought through all the potentials.

Despised by the Despicable

Why should someone who desn’t respect yolur right to arms respect your right to petition for redress? Chad Clifford can afford to smirk because he knows he’s in a safe Democrat district.

Bonus points if anyone knows who my title came from.

UPDATE

Points to DDS for Kurt Hofmann. Some of you guessed Vanderboegh, and that’s who he heard it from.

Follow the Money

Wisconsin voters approved two constitutional amendment proposals Tuesday that prohibit private money from being used to conduct elections and mandate only legally designated government officials may administer elections. This makes Wisconsin the 28th state to ban “Zuckbucks”-style electioneering and the second to do so by constitutional amendment. [More]

So, if they’re capable of being rational about elections, what the hell is this about?

Or am I making an assumption that ignores the same First Amendment abridgements that made McCain-Feingold so objectionable?

Feel free to edumacate me on similarities and differences.

A Show of Solidarity

During a mandatory “structural racism” class at UCLA medical school, a pro-Hamas guest speaker led students in chants of “Free, Free Palestine” and demanded that they bow down to “mama earth” for a prayer. [More]

This is like telling Mao to hold your beer.

Forget the establishment clause. Now put down your fork and raise that fist — or else!

That there was compliance instead of an angry mass walkout tells us much. It figures the program is headed by a pediatrician.

You’ve Had a Little Too Much to Think

Excessive free speech is a breeding ground for more Trumps [More]

The totalitarian-promoting wanker says that like it’s bad thing.

I’m sorry, I know you’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but that is one creepy, fascist-looking motherf****r

Forbidden Speaker

A second petition, posted on Change.org by KSU student Ally Grecco, urges the university and Turning Point to reconsider the decision to host Rittenhouse. Grecco points out KSU’s “painful history with gun violence” on May 4, 1970, which had profound impacts on national politics. [More]

My alma mater‘s right down the road– I may try to see if I can meet him.

You’d think knowing who committed that “gun violence,” their indignant sympathies woudln’t be with the “Only Ones,” but no-o-o

Snitch Nation

It also targets reported instances of “a person’s hostile expression of animus toward another person, relating to the other person’s actual or perceived characteristics…” Literally, the hotline gives people a way of informing on others supposedly guilty of thought crimes – or, perhaps, speech crimes. [More]

Hey, if you don’t have any forbidden thoughts you’ve got nothing to worry about.

And tell me the bill’s main sponsor’s other priority surprises you.

We’re the Only Ones Instrumental Enough

Hours after he posted the joke, a SWAT team descended on Bailey’s Louisiana home. According to court documents, officers with guns drawn ordered Bailey to his knees. He was placed in handcuffs, told he was under arrest, and instructed that his next Facebook post should tell readers “not to f*** with the Police.” [More]

The law of the instrument writ large.

Obama Judge Cooper Shows Big ‘But’

Cooper wrote that he “recognizes the paramount importance of a free press in our society” and the critical role of confidential sources in investigative journalism. But the judge said the court “also has its own role to play in upholding the law and safeguarding judicial authority.” [More]

I know Mike and I were committed to being jailed before revealing our sources. You’re just going to have to trust me when I tell you that people have no idea what went on behind the scenes of this, and the fears that went with it.

Revealing Truth Forbidden Under Punishment of Law

Judge Overseeing Case to Release Covenant Killer Manifesto Warns of Contempt If Parties ‘Usurp’ Sealed Materials [More]

What filthy politics must be in play for this to even be an issue on as story of such public importance that’s being exploited to ratchet down on our rights?

If I had the information, I’d defy this robed tyrant in an instant and protect my sources to the end.

Who Will Judge the Judge?

This puts journalists in an interesting position. If I reach out to the neighbor for her side of the story, a judge can jail Jeremy. In essence, a judge in Florida is restricting the right of the press to get to the heart of a story through threats of removing the liberty of the subject of the story… One of the worst things the judge has done to Jeremy and his girlfriend is to restrict Jeremy’s movements on his own property without hearing the facts of the case…Worse, his Second Amendment rights have been removed with no evidentiary hearing to decide if he is actually a threat. Meanwhile, he says he’s been threatened by the neighbor and her associates with all manner of bodily harm. He is also prohibited from hiring security due to the injunction, as he cannot be around anyone with guns. [More]

That would be Judge Craig C. DeThomasis, a DeSantis appointee.

At least we know where to turn up the heat.

And It Continues?

Comment left under a post:

It would seem that your site has disappeared from my web browser. Had to go a very circuitous route to find you today. Thought I might have been in the public library in Cleveland, where your site is blocked by the libraries there………… Johny Gee

This after my weekend adventure?

I’ll check it out when I get better from this cold that I came down with. Hudson’s library is part of the CleveNet system, and if I can’t access it I may have a First Amendment claim.

Just Think of Them as Commiesense Influencer Safety Laws

As reported earlier today, the lawsuit challenging the state’s ban on firearm marketing to youth, known as Jr. Shooting Sports Magazines v. Bonta, got a boost with the announcement that the State’s request for an en banc panel review of our favorable ruling in a lower court was denied, thus securing our injunction win. [More]

Nobody thought totalitarians would just stop at the Second Amendment, did they?

It’s telling, the literature and imagery they DO want young people exposed to.

Sons of Akal Purakh

Turban-wearing Sikh motorcyclists would be free to ride helmet-free in California if Assembly Bill 2392, proposed by Fresno Assembly member Esmeralda Soria, becomes law this year. [More]

And that bit about making no law respecting the establishment of religion, or that other bit about equal protection under the law…? Precedent has been established with the kirpan.

Maybe people could start their own “faith” and claim the same “privilege”? Just not without the state claiming it alone has ther power to recognize “authorized religions” (just like in China!)

Then again, it’s hardly surprising that a “Gun Sense Candidate” views rights as things that can be given or withheld depending on what’s in it for her.

As an aside, I always thought Sons of Anarchy based in California was ridiculous, with the first thing you see with all these lawless OMG warriors is them showing unified submission to the law by wearing their helmets of obedience.

Our Own Public/Private Idaho

Senate Bill 1291 was introduced in the state Senate earlier this week. The measure would prohibit public contracts with individuals or companies that are boycotting those that engage in or support the manufacture, distribution, sale or use of firearms, and would also require companies that contract with the state to disclose if their policies discriminate against the firearms industry. [More]

I’m wondering how much of this is posturing and how much of it will withstand a legal challenge on First Amendment grounds.
