I don’t normally post here on weekends unless I have an article to promote or if something important comes up. In this case, I’m getting a lot of email delivery failure notices in my Outlook account.
Your message wasn’t delivered because the recipient’s email provider rejected it… Message blocked because it contains content identified as spam.
And yeah, I checked the obvious.
Mine were not unsolicited messages from out of the blue. Every one of the emails I sent was a reply to people who had sent me news tips, to show them I had used their story. I have been doing this as a standard practice for as long as I’ve been featuring my scribblings online. And these are all people I have corresponded with for years, with no issues, longtime WoG Correspondents like Jess, Michael G, Steve T, bondmen, Andy M, Wisco Dave, Grassroots North Carolina, 1Gat, and others.
Yes, my replies have included links, first, one to my post that shows where I used the news tip, and also there is a list of websites my stuff is on under my name in my signature block. Those are probably the triggers. But my emails have always used those and it has never been an issue before. Now, all of a sudden, I’m getting dozens of reject notices, all from people I routinely trade emails with, and all in replies to links they had initially sent me.
The only other anomaly: The other day I noticed a few emails from some (but not all) of these correspondents showing up in my junk folder. I moved them back to my inbox along with the selected instruction to never treat them as spam.
Anyway, if you have sent me something that I’ve used and I haven’t gotten back to you on it, it’s not because I’m a rude, ungrateful SOB. If anyone has any ideas on what’s going on, feel free to advise in comments.
