Prosecutors later dropped those charges, but before they did, Cleveland police found pictures Philpotts posted to social media showing him standing outside his home with a pistol. From what I’ve been able to glean, and if there’s not more than one person with that rather unique name, Delvonte may not exactly be the poster child for unalienable rights. That said, if this can catch him up it can catch you and me up, and I want to know what my “pro-gun” state senator intends to do about it.

“Probable cause” for the search warrant also seems kind of hinky without knowing when the photo was taken and whether or not it was a replica firearm. And that said, leave self-incrimination on social media to the morons.

So if “233 firearms were collected at the event and $34,325 in gift cards were given out,” even given the maximum payout of $100 per working gun (which assumes no non-working guns paid out at $25 each were collected), that opens the question of whose pockets the other (at least) $11,025 in gift cards ended up in…

The “authorized journalist” who wrote this up probably didn’t want to press the issue because math is racist.

I wanted to check out the Summit County Sheriff’s social media to see if they were bragging about this so I could ask them about their addition, and the cover of their magazine was the top post:

Then again, consider where the buck stops and the party that she represents.

That’s because Dolan is a f***ing liar:

State Senator Matt Dolan, a “moderate Republican,” may as well be a Democrat as far as gun owners are concerned. Described by CNN as a “non-Trump Republican … in the McCain lane, the Romney lane…” Dolan penned an op-ed in support of the state’s proposed STRONG Act, essentially a “red flag” edict that promises due process before gun confiscations without really delivering it, and requires “background checks” on private sales, and adds liability penalties to sellers. And no surprise here, Dolan admits “I understand this bill probably doesn’t go far enough for some and goes too far for others.”

There’s a lot of happy talk here to give cover to the obvious:  DeWine signed this because he had to, but still backdoor badmouthed it, and Democrat-dominated school boards can still nix the idea:

“It is important to emphasize that the bill does not mandate the arming of school staff members but leaves the decision entirely to local school boards, which have the best understanding of the needs of their individual districts.”

Sure they do, Mike. Care to elaborate on the magic qualifications urban apparatchiks have to decide whether another human being can claim his unalienable rights? Or comment on how the same ones saying “No” are also hot on indoctrinating children into all other kinds of destructive, racist, and perverted leftist nonsense?

Sure, this is an improvement. But it hardly calls for cartwheels.

Bottom line: Don’t look for any improvements in high-population areas. Most of the schools in the state will remain predator empowerment zones.

Some Shortcomings of Open Carry [More]

He makes some good points.

So do some of his critics. The angry and rude hostility that comes out in some of the responses though, when people believe they are anonymous and therefore not accountable, makes me wonder how many behave like that face-to-face.

For the record: I have written to Mike DeWine and the two governors before him in my state, Ohio, to get the “Only Ones” trained to stop threatening and assaulting open carriers. But I don’t personally open carry for the same reason I won’t rack a shotgun slide to “scare away” an intruder.

Not a single Democrat made the list, which if you think about it, is the way it should be since with everything else they must do to advance party interests and candidates, it is literally impossible to be a “pro-gun Democrat,” Jorge & pals notwithstanding.

I’m presenting this list as a starting point. I know who my pols are and suggest everyone else know theirs as a minimal citizenship standard rather than just following anybody’s list.
