The latest on the suspected Chinese spy balloon over the US [More]
It’s just for “research,” right?
Just blue-skying here, but is it fair to wonder if the real reason it’s not being shot down is that an examination of the remains might reveal components produced by Chinese companies with administration business partners…?
Horror moment California doctor, 58, cycling on Pacific Coast Highway is mowed down by a Lexus and then stabbed to death by the driver – a former accountant making ‘white privilege’ slurs who was restrained by shocked bystanders [More]
I made this video at Puerto Limon in Darien Gap as this group emerged. Most are military aged males. Every day I am with them I see a sprinkling among the masses — a few who appear dangerously insane. And another sprinkling of obvious predatory males. This is true here in Darien, and the US/Mexico border. [More]
U.S. Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Bill Hagerty (R-TN), along with 43 of their Senate colleagues, today introduced the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, which would allow individuals with concealed carry privileges in their home state to exercise those rights in any other state that allows concealed carry, while still abiding by that state’s laws [More]
The man who was fatally shot by police after entering a Target store in Omaha, Nebraska, armed with an AR-15-style rifle had obtained the weapon just four days earlier at a Cabela’s sporting goods store, police said Wednesday. [More]
And aside from putting Cabela’s on the spot with a fact irrelevant to the situation, the purpose of telling us that is…? Did the guy pass the background check we’re told must be made universal or not?
If it had been four years, they’d simply come up with a different avenue of attack.
Attributing increases to the recent rise in gun sales is a repackaging of the trick they tried to do to blame things on the pandemic. As I noted a few months back:
In order for pandemic-related sales to significantly move statistics, the transference from the “legal” to the “illegal” market would need to be almost instantaneous, when in fact, ATF time-to-crime (“the amount of time between the retail sale of a firearm by a federal firearms licensee (FFL) and its recovery by law enforcement”) statistics show a national average period for 2021 of 6.21 years.
Not that we should expect either the Bureau or the Associated Press to factor that into their public consumption “conclusions.”
Photo and video evidence “clearly show Baldwin, multiple times, with his finger inside of the trigger guard and on the trigger,” according to the statement of probable cause submitted by prosecutors. [More]
Curious as to why there is such a huge difference between GOA’s and other estimates, Firearms News contacted Director of Federal Affairs Aiden Johnston, who cited Congressional Research Service’s “Handguns, Stabilizing Braces, and Related Components.”
“While there are no available statistics to gauge authoritatively the number of stabilizing braces already made and sold in the United States, unofficial estimates suggest that there are between 10 and 40 million stabilizing braces and similar components already in civilian hands, either purchased as accessories or already attached to firearms made at home or at the factory,” the report states. Since CRS is the Library of Congress’ official research group working “primarily and directly for members of Congress and their committees and staff,” GOA chose to use the same data lawmakers rely on.
And point of order: I should have spelled his first name Aidan with two “a”s and I submitted a correction request at the time.
Several readers have asked who I think deserves consideration.
Based on the real reforms I see the current crop of offerings willing and capable of bringing about, I’m calling on a frequent WarOnGuns spokesman to clearly and unequivocally articulate my position.
