Let the Punishment Fit the Crime?

Judge Timothy Kelly sentenced Marine Corps veteran Zachary Rehl to 15 years to life in prison for being in the wrong place at the wrong time — walking through the Capitol building for approximately 20 minutes during the Capitol riot on Jan. 6… Rehl committed no violent crimes on Jan. 6. He walked through the Capitol building on Jan. 6 for merely a few minutes, took a selfie in the building then left the Capitol grounds. [More]

I wonder why “conservative” media neglects to mention who appointed Kelly

She can be heard shouting back, “What? Are you going to shoot me?” before she begins to put the car into gear and accelerate. [More]

Maybe she’d never seen the “Your terms are acceptable” meme.

Just oozing poor choices and militant resentment and entitlement, wasn’t she?

Meanwhile, how hard would it have been to not position themselves in harm’s way with other cars around? And she didn’t floor it or adjust her steering to get better contact, did she?

Way to fall into the plans of the destroyers.

Adventures in Baselessness

Michigan authorities suspected there was a possible voter registration fraud scheme occurring across multiple states during the 2020 election and were concerned enough to bring in the FBI, according to police memos reviewed by Just the News. But what happened since remains mostly a mystery. [More]

It’s no mystery to some.

We’re the Only Ones Tearful Enough

In an effort to persuade Judge Kelly to add terror enhancement to the defendant’s sentences, Loyd alongside U.S. Capitol Police Officer Shae Cooney Mark Ode broke down in tears claiming they were traumatized victims of an insurrection that was planned and orchestrated by the former Proud Boys leaders who were found guilty of seditious conspiracy. We’re the Only Ones Criminal Enough

[T]he Mission Division gang unit has effectively been disbanded, with members transferred elsewhere amid accusations that officers were routinely turning off their body cameras — and possibly stealing from the people during traffic stops … Sources … said the gang unit officers are also suspected of slipping Apple AirTags into some of the vehicles they stopped, allowing police to track them without a court-issued warrant. This was in March– I haven’t been able to determine what happened to the case, if anything yet.

I’m curious to see if he’s been offered the same “consent to permanent entry” deal as Hunter Biden.

Contradiction in Terms

COVID Tyrants want to take away our Freedom. Hear my words— WE WILL NOT COMPLY. [More]

How does the John Kerry saying go?

He was for it before he was against it?

An angry reader canceled his Firearms News subscription and had some choice words for me about this.

He must have only read the parts he wanted to before storming off, like the title, because I thought I’d explained myself:

This is not an exercise in piling on and kicking a man when he’s down, nor an invitation for the wrong-headed rebuttal common among those who still think the guy is some kind of Second Amendment 4D chess master, “Would you rather [insert Democrat gun-grabber here] were president instead?”

No, of course not. By the same token, we are not doing ourselves or those depending on us to stand for freedom any favors if we deliberately ignore Trump’s willful failures on guns. Because this is going to end one of two ways – strengthening his renewed bid for a return to the White House, or ending any chances of it. If he wins, we need to be able to collectively influence his 2A decisions and judicial appointments and get him to understand what the bad ones are before he makes them. If he loses, we need to be ready to do the same with whomever the Republicans nominate to carry the standard.

Denying reality, complimenting the Emperor’s exquisite, nonexistent wardrobe, and attacking observations so simple a child can see them not only guarantees more destructive disappointments, it aids and abets the rights swindlers who will take infringements any way they can get them.

It also, ultimately, hurts Donald Trump’s candidacy. The people he needs the most — those who can think beyond the self-promoting rhetoric — know when it’s not raining.

But I don’t suppose it’s in the guy to ever admit he’s been wrong about anything, show he understands why he was wrong, apologize, and detail how he’s going to fix the damage and then make it better… and that’s too bad for all of us.
