New York, New York, It’s a Wonderful Town

At least 16 hurt in 9 shootings during bloody day in NYC: cops [More]

Ah, the original Bloomberg City! The one he and his fellow violence monopolists are bent on remaking the rest of the country in the image of…

How are those “sensitive zones” working out?

Every Terrible Implement

CONNECTICUT CITIZENS DEFENSE LEAGUE AND SECOND AMENDMENT FOUNDATION SUE CT OVER BAN ON MODERN SPORTING ARMS [More]

I dunno– “in Common Use for Lawful Purposes Throughout the United States” seems to exclude everything that’s not, including what will be developed in the future.

As noted:

The Supreme Court, in its infamous Miller decision, nonetheless recognized the function of the Militia, defined as “all males physically capable of acting in concert for the common defense [and] bearing arms supplied by themselves and of the kind in common use at the time,” was — and still is — to field citizen soldiers. These citizens bore arms that were suitable for that purpose, “ordinary military equipment” intended to be taken into “common defense” battles. The Militia did not assemble on the green bearing clubs and spears. They came with the intent to match and best a professional military threat. A modern Militia would require citizens to keep and bear exactly what the gun-grabbing politicians are trying to take away from them, what they pejoratively denounce as “weapons of war.”

And as noted:

Second Amendment will be Nullified if ‘Common Use’ is Restricted to ‘Popularity’

Life in the Retardocracy

Barnes once said he “really could not care less about a 2nd Amendment ‘right’” to bear arms. [More]

This just proves what a damned idiot and a tool he is, and how willfully ignorant his supporters must be.

What the “our democracy” string-pullers don’t seem to be taking into account is when you erode respect for a position by offering obvious boobs like this as placeholders, you replace it with contempt for the office. Or maybe they are taking it into account, and it’s all part of a plan to bring about the day when they can drop all pretenses because their rule will be unchallengeable.

Gun and ‘Disinformation’ Control Show Tyranny is Growing

They don’t want you to have guns and they don’t want you to have free speech. Hey, if you can get away with ignoring the Second Amendment, why should you respect the First? [More]

What’s more, a globalist collectivist tyrant from New Zealand is joined on her pathway to tyranny by what our media pass off as a “conservative.”

With ‘Republicans’ Like These…

Texas will fight to block 18- to 20-year-olds from carrying handguns [More]

Well, you can buy the Ted Olson excuse, that regardless of how he feels, the AG is charged with defending existing state laws, or you can just as easily conclude that “Tea Party conservative” Paxton has reasons of his own to douse the fire in gun owners’ bellies before November to help turn the state blue.

We’re the Only Ones Culturally Revolutionary Enough

China has opened dozens of “overseas police service stations” around the globe to monitor its citizens living abroad, including one location in New York City… [More]

The thought strikes — with diplomatic immunity — Chicom agents couldn’t be prosecuted for being armed where “We the People” are not “allowed” to be.

No Worries

Americans oppose President Joe Biden’s lawless and wage-cutting mass migration because they are racist, not because of their economic worries, according to former President Barack Obama. [More]

And true to form, he embeds a lie within a lie so that he and his cabal aren’t the ones worrying.

The real agenda encompasses a hell of a lot more than pocketbook “worries.”

Good thing this has nothing to do with that “single issue”. And I have it on good authority there’s no need to worry.

VanDerStok v. Garland Challenge to ATF’s ‘Frame or Receiver’ Rule Update

Because the parties contest the utility of a completed classification request, the Court DENIES Defendants’ Motion and CLARIFIES that the current injunction precludes Defendants from concluding its classification determination with respect to Tactical’s product. [More]

My legally unqualified two cents: This is a hopeful development and it has the potential, in the end, to stop a lot of the Constitutionally-unauthorized tyrannical rule nonsense in its tracks, but it only applies to this limited case and there’s still a long way to go.

GOA and GOF Legal Updates

Gun Owners of America (GOA) and Gun Owners Foundation (GOF) secured a preliminary injunction yesterday against a Winchester, VA ordinance that prohibits the possession, carry, or transportation of firearms at public parks and in public areas where approved demonstrations are occurring. [More]

You take a look at the history of the place and you’ve just gotta shake your head at what those who live there now have done to it.

UPDATE

Also in this post:

Philadelphia, PA – Yesterday, lame-duck Mayor Jim Kenney signed an executive order prohibiting individuals from lawful carry at all City of Philadelphia recreational facilities. The mayor’s actions are in clear violation of Pennsylvania law prohibiting these types of local gun restrictions. Within hours of Mayor Kenney’s signing ceremony, Gun Owners of America (GOA) filed a lawsuit to enjoin enforcement of this illegal gun regulation.

Your Tax Dollars at Work

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which recently said that questioning official narratives on matters like coronavirus policies constitutes a terrorist threat, has awarded nearly $700,000 to left-wing researchers to study radicalization in video games, with a focus on “white supremacy.” [More]

Seems kind of like a bullet fee, doesn’t it?

Speaking of Disturbingly Persistent Ideas…

“Elegant and important essay by @RepRaskin debunking the disturbingly persistent idea that the 2nd Am gives citizens the right to take up arms against the government.” [More]

For being an “LATimes Legal Affairs Columnist. Former US Attorney, DOJ official. Teach con law at UCSD& UCLA” you’d think this f***ing idiot would know the Second Amendment doesn’t “give” any rights.

As for Marxist weasel Raskin, the rotten fruit doesn’t fall far from the corrupt tree.

It’s funny that the Democratic Underground uses a web archive link to avoid the NYT paywall. It’s dangerous that no one there understands the basics of the most egalitarian power-sharing arrangement ever devised.

Hunting Council Masks Hostility to Founding Intent with Gun Banner’s Appointment

“Busse was listed as ‘unaffiliated,’ but that is not true… He is an advisor for the Giffords gun control group and has openly advocated the ban on the most popular selling centerfire rifle in America…” [More]

Yeah, put the fox in charge of the henhouse. What could go wrong?

We’re the Only Ones Excuse-Making Enough

“The number of guys who say, ‘I don’t agree with what’s going on here, but I’ve got three years to retire,’ it’s heartbreaking,” he told podcast host Dan Bongino. [More]

Gee, they should have tried that defense at Nuremberg.

They get no sympathy from me.

I’ve quit jobs before when I couldn’t stomach what was going on. I’ve refused to do things that could have gotten me fired when they conflicted with my principles. All with a family to support and no guaranteed lifeline visible.

And I’ve known men who have put their careers on the line to expose institutional corruption.

AMA Assault Science Weapon of Choice in Mass Shillings

Mass public shootings in the US account for a small fraction of all firearm-related homicides, but have an outsized role in stoking the public’s concern with firearm violence. [More]

Yeah, thanks to elites-funded hysterical “agenda science” amplified by an equally hysterical (and reliably ignorant) DSM.

Doctrinaire disarmament propagandists Philp J. Cook and John Donahue (Piled Higher and Deepers each) sure use a lot of words to spook the herd on a threat that takes fewer lives than fists and feet. And the gunquacks (funny, we were just talking about them) at the equally agenda-driven AMA are delighted for another chance to posture and preen as leaders.

Those are my broad strokes on the matter. I’m hoping our friends Miguel A. Faria, Jr., M.D. and the good docs at DRGO decide to give us something more scholarly to push back with…

Hat tip to John Richardson, who sent me this information, and has put together quite a nice write-up that factors in Bruen. This is one of the things I like about those in “our movement” who do it right– the object is to help each other fight the best fight possible.
