America’s Pastime?

Last Friday night at Camden Yards, the Baltimore Orioles had a Tupac Shakur bobblehead night. You remember Tupac? The notorious “gangsta” rapper who was killed in a 1996 drive-by in Las Vegas? Yes, that Tupac, whose life involved gangs, guns, killing, and hard time for sexual abuse. So much for family-friendly nights at the old ballpark. Wholesomeness doesn’t put butts in seats like honoring a dead thug — not in gang-plagued Baltimore, anyway. [More]

At what point are people who go for this sort of manipulation going to realize they’re being used, and by whom?

Oh, look: He donates to Chuck Schumer!

Locking Arms

Georgia governor vetoes bill that would have overturned ordinance on guns left in cars… “If you look at the reasoning behind why Governor Kemp vetoed the bill, what he said was that, you know, it was an overreach, because the way the bill was written, you could have individual law enforcement officers found liable in court,” Hallett says. [More]

The way this is written I’m still not clear on what this means, but have to say that doesn’t seem like a very good reason either way.

Savannah had a law, the legislature tried to overturn it and the governor wouldn’t let them…? That’s a bad thing from our point of view, right?

And besides, I thought Georgia had preemption…

Another Win for the Gipper

Federal Judge Blocks Key Border Enforcement Law Provisions – The ruling blocks Texas DPS from enforcing a state law making illegal reentry a crime and allowing the state to issue “removal” orders against illegal aliens. [More]

Why “conservatives” revere the guy who sold them out on immigration and guns is beyond me.

DOJ Tells Virginia ‘See You in Court’ After Latest Gun Ban – Virginia defined those guns as “assault firearms.” [More]

It doesn’t strike ruling Democrats that the official seal of the Commonwealth shows armed Virtue standing over a slain corpse, with the motto “Thus always to tyrants,” or that the fallen crown shows what the Founders had in mind by “No Kings”…?

You’re to Blame for This, You Know

2 in custody after multiple ‘random’ Austin shootings
Police said the suspects have carried out up to 10 attacks, injuring as many as four people… the suspects have been identified as a 17-year-old male and a 15-year-old male. The 17-year-old suspect had a previous warrant for theft of a gun and the 15-year-old is believed to have stolen a gun from the same location on Saturday. The duo is accused of stealing four vehicles over the course of the entire incident. [More]

If there were no guns this couldn’t have happened.

UPDATE: They caught Thing 3. They’re just not telling us much about any of them yet.

For some damn reason, Outlook is rejecting some emails and deleting others. I’ve restored ones I need, checked the filters, and changed my passkey but still don’t know if there are problems, and if so, what’s causing them. The rejected emails aren’t even showing up in my junk file– they’re just blocked from the get-go.

For the time being, if you try to email me at [email protected] and get a rejected notice, an alternative email is [email protected]. You can also message me on X or Facebook.

And it’s not a storage issue:

At least notices I accept from MoveOn and The Washington Post are getting through, as are Junk emails…

Bear Knuckle Fighting

That’s right, if you’re going to be hiking, camping, or carrying a pick-a-nick basket into Yosemite or one of the other four national parks in Cali, don’t bring bear spray with you. It’s against the law. [More]

And, naturally, Yellowstone Rules also apply to guns there.

I’m glad I didn’t have to find out in my bear encounter (that happened technically in a National Forest, but still, California). I was just happy that when I screamed in surprise it sounded more like a roar and less like a girl.

Lie of Omission

Beard was more than a leader. He was a pioneer in the gun violence prevention movement. In 1974 Mike founded what eventually became known as the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence… [More]

Oh, you mean the National Coalition to Ban Handguns

And we’re supposed to believe their “research”?

They still want to “lop off both ends” and then move inward.

Technical Difficulties

Technicaldifficulties

I see the site was producing “Too many requests” errors again today. As noted before, this site is not a revenue generator and unless I want to spend the money to get off the shared server that’s going to be something I have to live with — unless and until I change that, all I can suggest is to give it an hour or so and try later. Sorry.

Also, I’ve been told my Hotmail account has been rejecting some emails– and they’re not showing up in the Junk folder, so I have no idea from who and how many unless you tell me. If you can’t get through by email, leave a comment here or message me on FB or X.

Looks like I’m not gonna be a tech billionaire after all.
