A Common Factor

The CDC recommends sexually active gay or bisexual men get tested annually for gonorrhea, and that women younger than 25 or older with new or multiple sex partners also get tested once a year. [More]

So the real way to reduce it, like with abortion, is through self-control, as opposed to self-indulgent and obnoxious in-your-face demands on everybody else…

I wonder if the same principle could be applied to guns…?

Republican Holdouts on Pistol Brace Vote Point to Larger GOP Problem

With this being SOP for the GOP, it’s no wonder lesser luminaries like Fitzpatrick and Kean feel like they can do anything they want, and “lesser of two evils” gun voters won’t have a choice but to keep rewarding them with power. [More]

If the turncoats will betray gun owners on something as clear-cut as this, what won’t they betray them on?

Face Value

Are you getting a return on your investment with the NRA? [Watch]

I guess. I became a Life Member back in the 90s and every month they send me their magazine, so I’m sure the initial donation has been paid back. That and I’ve attended several Annual Meetings at no admission cost. But I haven’t sent them a dime in decades now and like many others won’t unless and until heads at the top roll.

That’s One Less Obstacle for the Totalitarians to Overrun

It’s about official as it can get. Senate Minority Leader Tim Knopp has made a deal with the Democrats and you are on the chopping block. Personally made firearms will be banned under Knopp’s sell out and while there is some talk of getting something on the record that it will not apply to AR style uppers, we have no reason to think they are actually going to change the language of the bill to clarify that. [More]

Yeah, throw the circling jackals a scrap of flesh. That’ll make ’em go away!

Triumph of the Vichycons

GOP Squish Caucus Saves Evil Adam Schiff From Being Censured [More]

They really are doing their damnedest to douse and fire in bellies for ’24. And would it be too much to name them and save the rest of us the time?

Anyway, it’s consistent with what we’ve come to expect.

UPDATE

I gotta say, the Yeas and Nays confuse me, as do some of the names I see. So if they voted “Yea” they were against the resolution?

Is Thomas Massie right? What’s that assessment based on, speech or debate?

Fourth Generation Lawfare

There is a nefarious group that calls itself The 65 Project that has as its goal to intimidate lawyers into not representing Trump or anyone associated with him. They have threatened to file bar charges against any such lawyers. [More]

Pretty elite for terrorists

I wonder what they eat for breakfast.

No Act Too Filthy for Media Whores

The latest examples are pure propaganda from The Hill and The Washington Post on Monday, which led with scaremongering — “bomb threats over Pride items” — while completely burying the lede: The bomb threats against culturally embroiled retail giant Target came from pro-LGBT activists. [More]

That’s why I call them the DSM!

Unclear on the Concept

If you want to have a gun, you need to join the militia. [More]

Inigo would like to have a word about “well regulated.”

Marsha hasn’t read Heller, has she?

Or found anything from the Framers to support her ignorance?

Still, we ignore those first 13 words at our peril. Just understand that the “well regulated” part applies to when on duty and your rights go back home with you intact.

Does this mean we get new M16s?

If You See Something Say Something

The guns will be collected anonymously, unloaded and stored in a locked safe. They will be turned in to Cleveland Police Department’s 4th precinct headquarters every day. [More]

Brandon can accept transfers without background checks? And with “prohibited persons” on staff? Does ATF know about this?

Hey, they don’t have a “No Guns” sticker on the door, do they?

I didn’t imagine there was much demand for Fois Gras and Cuisses de Grenouille among the gang bang set…

Who Will Judge the Judges?

Third Circuit, En Banc, Range v. Lombardo: Not All Modern Felons Lose Second Amendment Rights … Several judges dissented. [More]

Which ones?

Who nominated them?

Who voted to confirm them?

I could go find out but it would take time I don’t have right now.

It would be nice if there were a website that provided judicial ratings and a way to hold those who enabled them politically accountable. It would be even more useful if it also politically scaled and rated inferior court judges running in “nonpartisan” elections and showed who backs them so their partisan allegiances could be inferred.

I guess I’m talking something like Ballotpedia on steroids. Too bad the name “Judicial Watch” is taken, although come to think of it, they’d be the perfect ones to take this on.

Democrats Pressuring House Republicans into Caving on Guns

Whether any of the Vichycon Republicans are actually gutless and dumb enough to believe that the prudent play is to listen to the commies and betray their base remains to be seen. While the urge to believe they won’t be is strong, we’ve seen “moderates” snatch defeat from the jaws of victory before. While they might not cave on everything, their baffling propensity to give up “something” and showcase an aptitude for “bipartisan compromise” is a factor that can’t be ignored. [More]

They only need five turncoats in the House, and those aren’t that hard to find.
